10 Things You Must Know About Auburn Football

This is what I've learned in my 23 seasons as an Auburn Fan:

  1. Never bet on them to win or lose, especially with the spread.  You have too much emotion invested to be rational.
  1. Realize they get up for the big ones, occasionally go flat for the small ones.
  1. We seldom run up the score on the runts, never under Tubs.  That means we never cover very large spreads.  You shouldn't be betting anyway:  See rule #1.

Star-divide

  1. We win twice as many games as we lose in the greatest college town in the country, Athens, GA.
  1. Georgia girls love to party and sleep with a winner, even if they did lose the game.  Bama girls...ugh, not so much...
  1. Auburn never keeps a big lead in a game against a SEC opponent.  They will always let someone back in it.
  1. 80% of all our losses are caused by massive turnovers.
  1. Although our colors are Blue and Orange, blue doesn't quite stand out in the stadium any more like orange does, so don't go thinking that you're at Clemson.
  1. We win 90% of the games where we score a touchdown on the opening drive.
  1. If we're getting pounded at home, it's ok to leave the game early.  Some things in life are too painful to witness for very long.

Okay, that's all I got!

Thanks War Eagle... I have to agree with 100% of what you said. Ah, to be 23 again.  Enjoy it while it lasts. Time flies!

Just a Thought

I agree with all except your last comment (and this probably has more to do with our age differences than anything else)- in my opinion it is NEVER (and I mean NEVER) acceptable to leave Jordan-Hare until the final second has ticked off the clock.  Case in point the LSU game a "few" years back: we were getting pounded until an Auburn defense managed to intercept a "couple" of passes and bring us back to win.  I can't imagine how torqued I would've been if I would've allowed my wife and kids to convince me to get out of the hot sun and realize that we were going to lose. No- I would say never leave until the team on the field is "finished".  War Eagle!!

PC Tiger
Doesn't sound like we're that different in age.  I was at the'Interception Game' and didn't miss a bit.  The game I left early at was last year's GA game.  I wasn't going to sit in that rain and watch that mess.  Usually I stick with them until the end, but it can be a lonely drive back to Atlanta some times.
