Bromberg's Added To Auburn Fans "Do Not Shop List"

Frank Bromberg, an Alabama graduate and the owner of the state’s oldest jeweler ran this ad in the Birmingham area...
"Whoever said love conquers all' obviously wasn't in love with a Cow College grad. But even though her grandma was the state tobacky-spittin' champ and she can burp out every bar of War Eagle, your world revolves around her. So turn her thoughts from blue and orange to wedding white with the perfect engagement ring from Bromberg's."
Now I’m sure Mr. Bromberg is upset about getting his ass whipped for the sixth consecutive year, but how stupid can you be?
Seriously, what was going through this guy's head when he made the decision to run this ad? He's now alienated half his customer base right here at Christmas.
And we all thought Nick Saban had lost his mind last week with the comments comparing an Alabama loss to September 11th and Pearl Harbor. Bromberg makes Saban look like the sanest person in North Alabama.
Hopefully, if you live in the Birmingham area, you’ve already made the decision to never shop at Bromberg’s again. Show this jeweler how much a "cow college" can cost him. Spread the word around the Auburn Nation about this ad and encourage everyone to shop elsewhere.
Rumors circulating around the internet today suggest that ten Alabama players quit the team on Monday. Whether or not they actually quit or just stormed out of a team meeting has not been confirmed.
We do know this: There are big problems in T-Town. Several Alabama message boards have been taking down posts detailing the incident. One even warned Alabama fans that they would be banned if they continued to write about it.
We’ll keep you updated on any new developments.
Washington Post columnist and best selling author, John Feinstein is grabbing headlines today over comments he made about Nick Saban in Tuesday’s paper.
Feinstein called Saban, "one of the worst people in all of sports."
He was referencing the remarks that Saban made last week comparing Alabama’s loss to Louisiana-Monroe to the events of September 11th.
He went on say that after failing miserably with the Miami Dolphins that Saban was "clearly someone who was meant to coach at the college level where tyrants are applauded as long as they win."
Ouch!

Bromberg's ad
Well Honey, there goes the 5 carat diamond I was going to get you from Bromberg's. What was this guy thinking?
I heard on Fienbaum that Saban called a meeting and told the seniors there was no need for them to come. This could fit in with the rummor of players quiting.
Fienbaum had Feinstein on his show yesterday, and to be honest, the guy came across as a lunatic. He was ranting about how Saban should be fired if he didn't apolgize about his comments. Well, I gotta say, while Saban's comments were stupid, he has the right to say whatever he wants. That is called freedom of speach.
Speaking of freedom of speach, Pete Holiday has threatened to kick me off the AOL Sports blog for my comments. In case you don't know who Pete is, he is one of the biggest bammer homers there is that writes blogs.

Feinstein
Just look at his past editorials. The man is an a$$hole. He makes Finebaum look reasonable and balanced.

Do you have any links or can you ID any sites about the Bama players quitting?

Bromberg's also had an "anti" Bama add
Bromberg's also had an add which was supposed to be the same type but dissing Bama fans. But they didn't really try very hard:
"You Love Her But Shes a Bama Fan.
They say love is eternal but so is the whining when you're in love with a 'Tide Pride' gal. Yet in spite of countless stories of rigged officials and national championships won 20 years before she was born, you're hollow without her. So give her a stunning engagement ring from Bromberg's and enjoy hearing how wonderful you are for a change, instead of how unfair the NCAA is or how Bear would have done it differently."
Not quite the same venom in the insults for the Alabama fans. Not one mention of hounds tooth panties or sharing your marital bed with the ghost of Bear Bryant.
Boycott Bromberg's. Make the drive to The Plains and stop by Ware Jewelers. At least they want your business. War Eagle

Bromberg's has always been kinda weird.
.....And they're big Bama supporters, too. My dad used to buy jewelry for my mom, years ago, there. Then, one Saturday afternoon, he forgot, and showed up at their Mountain Brook Village store in his yard-raking clothes. You know, blue jeans, old shirt, etc. They WOULD NOT WAIT ON HIM, despite him being a long-time regular. They lost a customer, that day, too.
.....Having seen both ads in my newspaper, I really think that the whole stink can be chaulked up to stupidity, rather than any malice. I went to school with Ricky and Frank Bromberg, and they were not mean guys... Not the sharpest knives in the drawer, either!
.....Saban's comments were ill-advised, but please. I've heard a lot worse out of administrators, this year. I think the new mayor of Birmingham takes the cake:

.....I saw Pete Holiday's post. It was actually one of his better efforts. I think I made him mad, though, because I've been unable to reply. My password doesn't work, and posting like a new user does not get the activation email back. If I'm banned, it was without notice. Weird, because I'm generally NOT the histrionic name-calling sort of poster! I basically was trying to do the honorable consolation speech. "Bama fought hard," etc. I did figure they'd get off the ground after being down 10-0, and I was right.
.....While I'm cracking on Bromberg's and the city of Birmingham, there's this:

Pete Holiday
,,,,,likes to do the name-calling and does not take kindly to anybody returning the favor. I have gotten into several rifts with Pete. His post are usually very biased, although, I agree, the latest one was one of his better efforts. I do my best to defend the Orange and Blue.

Wow...
I'd never heard of this Pete guy until now. I just read through some of his blog.
Why/how do you guys read that crap? There are plenty of other Bama blogs out there that put his to shame.
I expect team-oriented blogs to be somewhat homered. It's one of the reasons why I enjoy reading them. However, the writers should also show a bit of objectivity as well. If there's no objectivity, the writer crosses over from being a homer to a fan boy.

Objectivity?
Pete sees things through crimson colored glasses and ONLY through crimson colored glasses.
I read it to defend Auburn. Somebody has to. Otherwise he would be spewing his garbage without anybody holding him in check.
Acid Reign,,,,I knew I hadn't seen any of your comments lately on the AOL blog. I always enjoyed your comments and knowledge of Auburn football.
Too bad Pete is so insecure that he has to ban people from commenting on his biased opinions. It's also too bad that he has the authority to do it.

That was my point.
He is a fanboy with zero objectivity.
No offense, but it doesn't look like anybody is holding him in check. He still spews his garbage, doesn't he? He still argues every comment, doesn't he? And it appears that he's deleting comments, and banning people who don't hold his opinions.
There's nothing to keep in check. Fanboys are fanboys. No matter how much you argue with them, they're always right in their minds. I say let the fanboys drool together. They're the only ones who take each other seriously.

Point
No offense taken Joe Blow.
You are right, though. I, nor anybody else, is holding him in check.
Not only does he argue comments, but he sends me nasty emails insulting me. And yes, he does delete comments. I know he has deleted some of mine, even after they have posted. He actully went back and took them off of the blog.
The main reason I comment on his blog, and I hope you read this Petey, is to make him mad. It really isn't too hard to get to him.

damn.....
You mean he banned you Acid and I am still allowed to comment? Not that I haven't seen you give him a little venom here and there, but nothing bad and no name calling that I can recall. I on the other hand....well you know! lol. Pete reads this blog too so he can get his jabs in on his blog (the pathetic homer that he is). And I for one will never spend another dime in brombergs.

Don't think I was banned by Pete...
.....Heck, I've been one of the few Auburn guys to take up for him occasionally! I chalk it up to general AOL incompetence, or maybe they're mad that I figured out how to get my AOL email via Thunderbird, where I don't have to use their ad-laden software that plants an icon in my system tray every time I fire it up!

Or maybe,
and this is just speculation, he's the type of guy that just wants to get a rise out of people. You know, a jerk. What do you do to really piss off a jerk? Kill them with kindness. It frustrates them to no ends.
It could also be because you always keep your cool, and are always spot-on with your comments. Maybe he only wants negative comments from Auburn fans (name calling and whatnot), so he can say, "See? Look at all of those idiotic aubies!"

I barely get through half the time
..on Pete's Auburn fanhouse on AOL. On his recent article after the Iron Bowl, Auburn Wanted It More, I've tried to post twice with no success.
All I've done is made comments about why a Bama homer gets to edit the Auburn section, with no return favor. That and I told him that we haven't forgotten about that little hack video he made and posted about us back in September.

UPDATE: Pete responded to my complaints of selective editing:
