1971 Auburn vs. Tennessee Game
One of our readers sent this video link to me a few minutes ago. It's a good one. It's the final minutes of the 1971 Auburn vs. Tennessee game in Knoxville. Auburn trails 9-3 late in the game when the defense forces a fumble and Pat Sullivan drives the Tigers down the field for the winning touchdown. Auburn holds on to win 10-9 in front of 62,990 fans in Tennessee.

That was a most interesting clip.
.....I really enjoyed that! I was kind of little back then, and not a huge football watcher. I knew Sullivan could throw it a mile, but what impressed me in this clip was how quick he could get it out. Three steps and BAM! And the precision... Defender on the left? Sullivan puts it on the right shoulder. Most of those guys were pretty well covered on that game-winning drive.

Sullivan had a cannon
Acid:
I agree. I never realized what a fast release Sullivan had. Had we thrown more, we may have a few more national championships. That just wasn't the way the game was played back then.
