Campbell Hocks Perfect Season Ring?

I have a weird one for you today. Over the weekend, Jason Campbell’s 2004 Perfect Season ring appeared on Ebay. The item received 82 bids and listed for $6,500.
You are probably thinking the same thing I am. Why would the quarterback of the Washington Redskins put his perfect season ring on Ebay? There’s no indication that Campbell personally sold it.
The ring was listed by someone who uses the seller name Jammtiger. I’m going to take a wild guess and say that Campbell doesn’t spend his free time selling things on Ebay.
Then again, it looks like he may have more free time on his hands after what Todd Collins did at quarterback in his absence.
Why would he sell a ring that should hold so much personal value? Did he know the ring was for sale? Did someone close to him sell it?
I believe there’s more to the story than meets the eye. My guess is Campbell probably would like to have it back. Odds are he may never see it again. What a shame.

I can't take the credit
,,,,,somebody else caught it and got him. I did, however, let everybody know that Petey would never point out that it wasn't Jason's ring.

Staff ring also on eBay,...a few weeks back.
There was also a 2004 Perfect Season "STAFF" ring listed on eBay a few weeks back. In the eBay listing description, it said only the winning bidder would know who the seller was. It was listed with a reserve price of $3,995. It ended up with 60 something bids but never met the reserve price.
I'm not going to speculate whose it was, but some folks may have an idea, as I do. Personally, I don't think so and don't want to believe or think so... Not sure how widespread the staff rings were distributed beyond the coaches, too. May have been a bunch more.
I almost bought it myself. Compared to the $6,500 list price for Campbell's ring,...it might have been a good deal.

glad to see..
that its a sample ring!! NICE catch on that... i would have been near heartbroken to hear campbell had given it up!! still an interesting piece though -- would love to have it if i had that kind of cash to throw around!
I called Holiday out
To see if he would issue a correction. Also, to give him just one example of how Alabama claims NCs, since he insinuated how lame the inscription on the ring was.
At least our school doesn't carve 5-6 illegitimate championships into stone like they do...
