UT Martin: Like Looking Into The Mirror

I’m sure there was a long yawn when you glanced at the 2008 Auburn football schedule and saw Tennessee-Martin on the schedule for November 8th.
Your first question was probably, "Who the hell is Tennessee-Martin." That was mine.
The next question was probably, why?
While there may be little excitement on the field, there will be somewhat of an oddity when it comes to uniforms.
You see, Tennessee-Martin looks just like Auburn – literally. Joshua Stack tipped me off to this in an email. I couldn’t believe my eyes.
Tennessee-Martin’s uniforms look exactly like Auburn’s.
Judge for yourself...

15 yard penalty
against UTM for copyright infringement.
Russell Athletics must have made a mistake and sold them to UTM at a discount price.
"Do you have any discounts?"
"Well, we do have the Auburn uniforms that someone named Muschump ordered and never picked up... What do you say, half price?"
Haha!
Funny, Tigerstripe! Actually, you can copyright logos, but I don't think you can uniforms.
North Cobb HS here in Atlanta has Auburn uniforms. College teams generally tolerate high schools stealing even their logos, but definitely not other colleges, even those from lesser divisions.
It be nice to have a legal expert chime in on the uniform thing. I'm not an attorney, but I get sued a lot. I don't think you could copyright the uniform...

Home uniform.
It appears that may be UT Martin's home uniform. I wonder what their on-the-road uniform will look like when they come to Jordan-Hare,...assuming surely they have an on-the-road uniform.
I know I'm prejudice,...but regarding the helmet's alone,...Auburn's interlocking "AU" looks a whole lot better than UT Martin's non-interlocking (and exceptionally large) orange and blue "UT" on their helmet.

Just like...
...their older cousin in Knoxville, with the over-sized letter. "Excuse me, could we get this 'T' a little bigger, please???"

It will be interesting to...
see their road uniforms. I'm betting they look just like Auburn's. Then again, they may change them up this season since they are coming to Auburn.

No kidding...
Apparently in Tennessee,...advertising is of great importance,...:-)
