Don't Panic!!

Everything's gonna be alright...
The boon and bane of the internet is that you can have access to information that you might not have otherwise, BUT you get bombarded ad nauseum with everybody's brother's angle on a given subject, which can quickly lead to apathy and indifference. We've certainly heard every opinion proffered thus far on the limited information we have about what happened early Wednesday, but perhaps it's time that we gently reminded ourselves of a few things that we CAN take for granted. Like a flight instructor once told me, you can relinquish your death grip on the control yoke now and then AND the plane won't fall out of the sky. Just relax...
Tony Franklin wasn't the only coach on staff who knew anything about offense. We have quite an experienced cadre of coaches and believe me, they can handle formulating a game plan for Saturday. We can still run what we know about the spread and also mix in some more traditional offense--JUST LIKE WE'VE BEEN DOING. I'd say the last two weeks' worth of plays was only about half Franklin's, anyway. We're no strangers to some good old fashioned smash-mouth football, and if we have to draw plays in the dirt, then go find me a stick!
We probably shouldn't expect to call Ronnstadt to get a temporary OC to come down and work with us on a temp-to-perm basis. Nor should we expect anything out of Al Borges, who everyone seems to think's last whereabouts were at the corner of Mag and College. Face it. If you were Al, would you want to come back? Those kind of endings are for Hollywood. Tubs has already declared that NONE of the current coaches will be considered for the new OC, so it's good that he's already launching out feelers for a quality guy in the off-season. It's not a stretch though to imagine the next Spread guru might have second thoughts about attempting to sway the hard heads in Auburn that his path is the one true way...
Some have made mention that they're uncomfortable with having Ensminger and Nall back in the driver's seat of the offense, but I think we're a long way removed from the events of 2003. Right now, more than anything, these players need something real familiar to them, and these two are about the best you can do outside of mama's cooking. I'll grant you that it is indeed rich with irony that the antagonist of the 2003 debacle is rearing his ugly and flighty head back here this weekend, and I'm sure we'll all have a good laugh about it one day. I wonder if Petrino will fly in ahead of the team on the Razorback Lear or if we'll need Lowder to send one to pick him up?
And luckily for us, we've got the second of the three most dysfunctional teams in the SEC ( along with Tennessee and us) making an appearance at our house this weekend, and I think we'll have enough gusto to put that pig in the ground real quick. And even luckier, we'll have a rare mid-season off-week to prepare for a West Virginia team that's in the midst of their own identity crisis. Following that, we don't have anything too challenging until we get to Amen Corner--certainly enough time to re-establish some solidarity with what is still a highly talented football team.
And lastly: This decision has been made and the bus is leaving the station. Are you going to get in line with our coach and our team and hop on while there's still room aboard, or are you going to sit around and wait for the bandwagon? Our bandwagon runs every few years, compared to the Alabama one that runs every half hour. That doesn't mean that there's no room for dissent, but we need a united front, not only for ourselves, but for the Bammers. This is the first chink they've seen in Tubs' armour in a looong time, and they're going to try and use it to wedge the Auburn nation apart. I think this event is a rallying point for a team that's been confused for too long about what it is and Saturday is the first day we're stepping forward from that!

Well said.....
We can’t change the past, not that we have any control of the program anyways. He is gone, like or not!!! You are exactly right – it is time to unite and move on. Support the team and know that they are giving it their all. And as long as they do that, as Franklin says, it will all work out!!! :-)
WAR DAMN EAGLE!!!!
Let smoke those silly little pigs and welcome Petrino back the plains in Auburn fasion!!!
I'll be making my second trip of the year to Auburn tonight...
Where would be a good place to watch the LSU-UF game?
Personally I have always liked Buffalo Connection at Shug Jordan Parkway and Wire Road.
There also used to be a quaint little bar at the AU Hotel and Conf Center. But I dont remember if they had a big screen and if they served food. Also I dont even know if it is still there.
Buffalo Connection is good
Mama Goldbergs will have it on for sure, although it will only be on a bunch of little TV’s vs on big one. There is a bar one block off Toomers Corner that always has the big screen going on the covered patio. It is next to Moes on Magnolia.

I ate at Mama G's before the Tennessee Game too.
Sandwich was great. The wait was almost unbearable. About an hour to 1 1/2. Crazy hot in there. I’m picking up Chuck’s BBQ in Opelika today.

No worries here
I purchased my ticket on the Tubs train to Auburn a long time ago and i’m not about to throw it away now. I’m so deep on the bus i wouldn’t even know where to begin to get off. I’ll support Tubs and this team during any and all problems because i know that we’ve got the right man directing this program. People can always find something to complain about but its hard to deny what Tubs has done for Auburn. And for that i will always be behind him. He has righted the ship before and i have very little doubt that he couldn’t do it again this time.

be watching the game in Dothan. Can anyone recommend a place to watch? I’m not from there.
BTW, notice the bama invasion on the site? I think they may be getting antsy b/c they just watched Auburn’s biggest distraction get into his Hyundai and drive away. You know they wanted him around for the Iron Bowl.
You are watching the Auburn game in Dothan?
If you are going to watch a PPV in Dothan, there are only a hand full of places that I can think of off hand that would have it. You have Hooters and Legends are two of them. Legends is a karaoke bar that has all of the PPV games for alabama and auburn.
Thanks Mattco
I was figuring on Hooter, but always good to have options

Fist fight?!?!?!??!
Did anyone else notice in the video of Franklin leaving the Auburn Athletic Facility, that on the left side of his head he appears to have a big gash with stitches in it?!?!?! I watched the video and noticed it after someone asked me what I thought it looked like. If you watch the video, about 2 minutes in, or a little further, a girl in and orange shirt comes out of the building, followed by Franklin, when he walks past the video cam, pause it and make it full screen and I’m telling you, it looks like he has a small shaved area about and inch or two in diameter with a big red gash in the middle of it………..am I just seeing things?
I saw that
,,,,and wondered about it. Then I heard about a possible altercation with an offensive lineman. It sure makes you wonder about what really happened over there between Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning.

My wife works with a guy
,,,that was on the Auburn team that beat Alabama in the 17-16. He still has close ties to the football program and he said that there is a lot about Franklin that will never come out because Tubs doesn’t want to embarrass Franklin.
WAR EAGLE
Must...
You bring up the topic “ALABAMA” in every single post you write up, Atlanta? I’m telling you, if you guys would stop measuring your success by what Alabama does, and discontinue constantly evolving around UA, then your program would see wonders it’s never seen before!
But Barnies would rather insist on hating Alabama more than they cheer for themselves. I pity you guys, I really do — almost to the point where I can’t hate you guys. You’re pitiful, and of all the spots (even MLB the Rays and Yankees), I’ve NEVER seen a team who frequently obsess over the other the way you guys do Alabama… it’s a disease, an incurable sickness.

If we're the ones so concerned with you, why are you always over on our blog running your mouth?
I’m pretty sure if the post said something like “this weekend in Auburn, Alabama…” you’d accuse us of always talking about Alabama. Get a life man.

eesh.
Man that was bad for us. We lost to Arkansas, we will win Tenn-Martin (most likely anyway, like a 90% chance) but what about the rest of them. We really don’t deserve a bowl game and I think we need to turn it down if we manage an invite to begin working on next year.
Seeing the game tonight, I really hope we lose the UGA and Alabama games now so that there is no last ditch effort to save Tubberville this year. His days have come and gone, I won’t trash him on this season, but he really either needs to ditch his assistants or get out with them. The offense looked as bad as ever and looked eerily similar to “Franklin’s” offense tonight, crappy shotgun/ crappy no huddle plays that result in lots of negative yardage plays.
Let’s go after lane Kiffin and try to get him before anyone else guns for him, and yes, i mean as a head coach.
