Demise of Auburn Continues

Yep.
Unfortunately, after watching the game tonight, I can now admit that we are a horrible, horrible team. The defense has got to giving up at this point. I know they were thin with a few injuries and a few just not playing tonight, but they really didn’t look into the game after the first quarter. At one point, the time of possession was about 32 to 15 in favor of Arkansas.
The only regret about the game for me tonight though is that it wasn’t on regional tv. I wish that everyone who screams for Kodi Burns could see exactly how bad he played tonight. And I wish that everyone, including myself, could see what a non-Franklin run offense looks like, here’s a hint, it looked identical to a Franklin run offense.
Auburn really needs to look at the coaching staff and go ahead and start looking around for a new head coach. I would love or us to go ahead and start shopping Lane Kiffen as head coach and try to sign him before anyone else.
Can you say Emplosion?
I agree with your post here. Auburn is its number one enemy right now. It appears that there is too much fighting in the coaches lounge and not enough coaches on the field. I don’t care what anyone else says but Tuberville is near his end. There is no reason we should have lost the Vanderbilt game and no reason for this loss to Arkansas.
So much for “Protect this House”.
If there is a loss to Bama this and the University holds on to Tuberville, then we can truly say we have given over the University to Idiots.
Terdville will get a couple more years.....
Just for the reason of trying to change and the jet-gate ordeal, plus Lowder is probably worried more about getting his hands on some of that 700 billion dollar bailout for Colonial Bank .
If Tub’s doesn’t beat Ga or Alabama I could definetly see a change. I mean Les Miles and ole Urban have won a national title, right off the bat, and it doesn’t look like Tub’s record is getting much better after the undefeated season. ANd dang if we want better recruits ..get a high profile coach..Why not John Madden?? What kid wouldn’t want to play for him? Give him say a 5 mill a year..make ole Saban look like tuna…I mean dolphin, “I’m not going to Alabama and thats that!”
Auburn Elvis
bwahahahh
John Madden?!? Are you high? You would need to pay him $10m+ to come in and deal with this mess. This situation is worse off than New Orleans post-Katrina. Please get real.
And that's your problem
Barnie Elvis. While you’re harping about ALABAMA… AGAIN… you should be more concerned with that fact that, THIS WEEK ALONE, Tuberneck has told TWO LIES, and you mustn’t forget about Pinebox either. While WE WERE pursuing Rich Rod, Saban was saying he WOULDN’T BE THE COACH, before we had even contacted him. Continue worrying about Alabama, and including us in every topic of conversation and hopefully soon you’ll realize why The Polytechnic Institute will never be known for anything more than “the team that plays ALABAMA at the end of the year”.

maybe so...
but right now we are known as the team thta beats alabama at the end of the year. As well as another team Louisiana Monroe ..remember that before this one year gets to your head..yall started off good last year and lost the last three!!! Number one might not be a good number ask …USC and OU
Auburn Elvis
Again with your crap....
There is a long and ugly rivalry between Alabama and Auburn…I accept that. But it is people like YOU that make me proud to be an Auburn Tiger (yes even now). For years Alabama has been searching for another Bear or Stallings…and lo and behold they think they have managed to buy him. Nick Saban is in no way a bad coach, nor is Alabama playing horribly, but where is the consistency? So please…do us all a favor hang around…you guys haven’t beat us before at Bryant-Denny and the more you run your mouth the more I will savor the victory. And for the rest of you “Auburn Fans” who have bad mouthed every decision made or not made this year…I hear Alabama has a few more spots on their bandwagon available….
WAR EAGLE!!!!!!!!
You say we're the ones always talking about Alabama
Take a look over at the fanposts at Roll Bama Roll. This week there have been more fanposts about Franklin getting fired than about anything remotely Alabama-related. Not exactly sure why you brought up RichRod/Saban when talking about Tuberville and lies.
War Damn Eagle!

Just the Facts Man
Auburn is “Nationally Known” as the team that has kicked your Crimson A$$ for the last 6 years in a row.
You also may want to take a look at the latest poll. Texas, a team which BAMA has never beaten, just leap frogged Crimson Turds. Talk about no respect…
Other than the coaching...
The coaching will improve..But I ask this question….
Which is worse ..Todd’s arm or Byrum’s Leg????
Auburn Elvis
Will He Survive? How About - Should He Survive?
Any responsible Board of Directors would have taken action to fire this CEO a long time ago. It is time for the shareholders to speak up!
To the Auburn fans that come to the Bama blog and say "we got 6."
The Iron Bowl is the name given to the annual intercollegiate football game between the teams of Auburn University and the University of Alabama. The deep-seated football rivalry between Alabama and Auburn has historically spilled over into the politics and society of the state of Alabama. As is typical of such games, it is usually scheduled to be the final regular-season game for each team and is always played in late November. In a survey done by Sports Illustrated it ranked #2 after Boston Red Sox-New York Yankees as the greatest rivalry.[citation needed] ESPNU ranked the rivalry #1 in their Top Ten College Football Rivalries.
ATTN: Auburn fans!!!
1 Alabama leads the series 38–33–1. The longest streak of the series was a nine game winning streak by Alabama from 1973–1981.

I am not even a Bama fan. They just stand a better chance to take the SEC to the NC, and you guys being from the same state can’t even support them when you are losing miserably.
by AlltheGreatQBs on Oct 11, 2008 11:59 PM CDT reply actions
Ummm... Why would they?
I’m a Bama fan, and I don’t want them to support us. That’s part of the rivalry. I don’t expect USC fans to pull for UCLA or Texas to pull for Okla.
The 9 game win streak means nothing to the here and now. It happened, it’s done with. This season is what matters.
I’m a little stunned at the loss today, with luck Auburn will bounce back this year (hopefully not against the Tide).
Last year
What about those damn sign you bammers held up when college game day was on in Bama saying “Cox for the heisman” and shit like that just to get punked in the iron bowl…win, and stop looking to 30 years ago to claim something…maybe thats why you think you guys have winning streaks. the only streaks you guys can lay claim to recently is the number of head coaches through your doors. You guys are going to lose a couple this year still, and if CTT get’s back to Old Auburn, you guys are FUC8&#T^!
Only ones looking back in this thread...
Is some guy that says he isn’t a Bama fan and you. 9 game win streak means nothing now. None of the players or coaches from that time are on either sideline (AFAIK). With luck, Tubs rights the ship, if he can’t someone else will.
Good luck in the Iron Bowl this year. Hopefully both teams show up and we get a great game (no matter who wins)
What is your point?
You must live in Vermont if you think that either team would root for the other. That is half of the rivalry right there. I think the only thing that Auburn and bama fans could agree on is that you don’t get it!
by GumptownTiger on Oct 13, 2008 9:57 AM CDT up reply actions
I Wish
I had the time on my hands to visit my rivals blog. LOOSER
What do you expect?
It’s a bye week and our chief rival seems to be falling apart.
BTW It’s “Loser” not “Looser”. Please spell your insults correctly if you insist on making them.
Tommy Tubberville...
may have lost control of this football team. I’m not sure what the exact issue is, but something is wrong and it may not just have been Franklin. I’d expect a personnel shake up at the end of this season. A big one.
Ok...
yes there has been alot of posts about AU on the RBR boards. And why wouldn’t there be? This is so happens to be a national story. I’m sure MOST SEC forums or college football sites for that matter have plenty of people chiming in about it.
Auburn fans...
you guys have to expect this. Alabama has been a laughing stock for the past 5 years. It has seen just about everything and anything bad that can happen to a football program in that time (yes mostly self-inflicted). All the while you and the rest of the country laughing and taking joy in the possibility that Bama may be down… and out… for good. So Bama takes a HUGE gamble and throws the keys to its tarnished football kingdom to one Nick Saban. After all the national pundits said over and over that no decent coach would ever go there. After a Shula-like 7-6 2007, you and everyone else continued to laugh and take joy in your rival’s inability to rise to expectations. After the 2008 top recruiting class, and Tubs continuing to spin in his usual used car salesman way (we don’t need 5 stars, we’ll coach up these 2 stars), some of you were willing to acknowledge that Bama would be good again, but none of you would admit that the power shift had happened and that Bama would contend for titles. You continued to snicker, laugh and make fun of Alabama fan’s optimism.
Now here we sit today, Alabama is #2 in the nation, 6-0 and has the look of a program that will consistenly contend for titles in the very near future. Are you really that suprised that Alabama fans are acting the way they are? I certainly don’t wish for Auburn to fail, I honestly don’t. But the fact that they are this badly is very ironic, and considering what we have put up with over the last 5-6 years, none of you should be suprised over our reaction to the current state of affairs.
Bottom line is..
The only fans that enage in that type of behavior are not true fans at all. Its one thing to joke and pick at opposing schools fans, but people can take it waaay too far. And that goes for both sides. Good for Alabama putting together an awesome season this year. And yes the outlook for Alabama football appears to be a good one while Auburn’s is in jeopardy. But arguing over someone’s school of choice isnt going to help/change anything.
Auburn fans need to circle the wagons and rally behind our program right now. No one hates this poor performance more than the players and the coaches. This is just going to be one of those years that test your fanhood and dedication to AU. We’ll ge through this adversity just like other programs as well as ours have in the past.
I’m not jumping off the Auburn train. WAR EAGLE!
You
can’t possibly be that dismissive. Even your own coach has taken his own snarky shots at Alabama, and publically no less. He held up 5 fingers in Bryant Denny like a classless jackass. And now you’re sitting there acting superior as if its only “those fans” who do that sorta stuff? Please. You reap what you sow. See you on November 29th…

So What?
He’s putting out a message to the Auburn fans. It made me mad when he did it, and good for him. This is a rivalry, there is no rainbows and sunshine in a rivalry.
Roll Tide
All
I’m saying is that its tit for tat. Now its our turn. His point about fans who rub it in not being “true fans” was bullshit considering the behavior of his own coach.
Counting your chickens before they hatch.....
You haven’t won the iron bowl yet and its way too early to say that Bama is “back”…. I am one of the few that roots for Bama every game but one. But as far as the tit for tat remark….we had to listen to your crap long enough to justify any trash talk from our side it goes both ways and always has and always will. Tuberville didn’t show any less class than that scotch soaked drunk in the houndstooth hat when he called Auburn that “cow college”. Get over it and hope we don’t hold up #7 this season.
Agreed
I agree, nothing is won yet. Anything can happen.
Exactly, tit for tat, thats the way it is, we needle you when you’re down, ditto for your side when we’re down. We took it for the last 5 years from you, the rest of the SEC and the national talking heads. The question is, can you? ‘Cause we’re about to find out.
Bryant was before my time, so far beit from me to brag about championships or streaks that happened before I witnessed them first hand.
Holy Shit
did you really just say that? I think they are playing hockey in hell and a pig just flew by my window

Classless???
RAMMER JAMMER is CLASSLESS!!!
Bear Bryant calling Auburn a Cow College is classless!!!
Dennis Franchione calling Auburn the school down the road is classless!!!
Seems like most BAMA fans are experts on the subject of being classless.
Just remeber that the University of Alabama has never met a player, coach, or championship that couldn’t be bought.
You may be sitting pretty right now, but mark my words, the Saban era will have an ugly ending for BAMA.
Also
saying “Coonass” on national televison is classless
I once asked the question why are there so many Alabama fans that never graduated from the university? I was told its because their parents were fans and it was passed down.........(my response after a pause).....similar to racism.....?
He
didn’t say that on national television you moron. He was recorded by a reporter (after it was understood that it was off the record) who then ran back home to his editor and played it on national tv/radio. It was a hit job. Pure and simple.
by Bens4vcobra on Oct 13, 2008 10:18 AM CDT up reply actions
I do believe you said it was played on National Tv/Radio
Because he didnt say it directly does that diminish the point of it being classless. A hit job? by who? Since its so pure and simple i expect a pure and simple answer
I once asked the question why are there so many Alabama fans that never graduated from the university? I was told its because their parents were fans and it was passed down.........(my response after a pause).....similar to racism.....?
It
was a hit job by a Miami newspaper writer (don’t have the name off hand but can find it if you really really care that much) who then ran back to his editor so they could get it out as soon as possible like two little kids who peed their pants.
Come on carlege, you’ve never made a remark or a crude joke in front of people you felt confident in that they wouldn’t repeat what you said so that it could be taken out of context? Since I asked a simple question I’ll expect a simple answer.
No
i intend every crude mark and joke to be voiced publicly because if i didn’t mean it i wouldn’t have said it. Whats the point of saying something if you don’t want people to listen. simple,. just like my Bama cohorts
I once asked the question why are there so many Alabama fans that never graduated from the university? I was told its because their parents were fans and it was passed down.........(my response after a pause).....similar to racism.....?
I guess it's a good thing
nobody cares what you have to say. Much less record your conversations on a tape recorder. Coon ass is an affectionate term for those toothless bastards anyway. . . they eat that crap up like crawfish and grits. If you really want to be upset about Saban calling one guy from a different fan base a coon ass then you may want to readjust your concerns. . . . like your offense lulling people to sleep and firing the only guy who could fix it if you let him.
If I had a steamboat I could make it to London in 60,000 minutes.

Affectionate term or Ethnic slur
Apparently you care what i have to say or you wouldnt be responding now would you ( BURNED!)
Coming from a northerner it would be considered an ethnic slur since he isnt one of them such as the word Nig*er coming from a white person. (I hope you see how that works)
As for our offense it will work itself out no need to panic we still have not lost in your own stadium if you dont remember, many of us like to call it Jordan Hare West see you at our home away from home Nov 29
I once asked the question why are there so many Alabama fans that never graduated from the university? I was told its because their parents were fans and it was passed down.........(my response after a pause).....similar to racism.....?
Totally right
Since the Louisiana coon asses have been through such repression like African Americans have I can see why they’d be upset. That’s my fault. Hope no one thinks I’m a racist. . .
(I hope you see that comparing these two groups is an ignorant thing to do)
Are the Auburn and LSU faithful teaming up now? If so, they may wanna try that tactic on the football field. Maybe you could make one half-ass team instead of two awful ones.
If I had a steamboat I could make it to London in 60,000 minutes.

Totally wrong
Ethnic slur has nothing to do with Repression of a Group of people.
Here you go…… Ethnic slur " used as insinuations or allegations about members of a given ethnicity or to refer to them in a derogatory (critical or disrespectful), pejorative (disapproving or contemptuous), or insulting manner"
Please, and you call me Narrow minded
I once asked the question why are there so many Alabama fans that never graduated from the university? I was told its because their parents were fans and it was passed down.........(my response after a pause).....similar to racism.....?
When's
the last time you saw Southern Louisianan on a group of ethnicities? And why the hell do you care what Nick Saban said about a guy from Louisiana? Are you from Louisiana? Are you a coon ass? That story was quite humorous if you’re not a stuck up prick. I never thought the growing sensitivity of the American people would affect Southerners as strongly as it did. I’m ashamed and scared for the direction of tight lipped, PC, “your opinions should only be heard if they don’t offend my pet hamster” America.

cares where you’re from? To the coonasses its an affectionate term that many of them are happy to be called.

Look, Criminal tyde fans have waited a LONG time to have this chance so let them enjoy it.
But, be careful what you wish for, if Tubs leaves this year, this program’s not in shambles and there’s a few coaches who would look at this as a great opportunity.

cycle
Tuberville is not the problem, nor was Franklin. College football has a cycle and we’re on the low end right now. Look at Michigan, Miami and Nebraska. Where was Penn St. and Notre Dame a couple of years ago. Firing coaches exasperates the recovery. Recruits are signing with us and the world is not coming to the end. The season is shot, but like other poor Auburn teams in the past we have to look to the Alabama game. Anything can happen and likely will in the Iron Bowl.
by Titusville Tiger on Oct 12, 2008 8:09 PM CDT reply actions
If
you look at the history of the Iron Bowl, the vast majority of the time, the favored team wins. Its usually always closer than people think (with very few exceptions) because of the physical nature of the game. But historically, the favored team usually always wins in this series.
lol what a load of crap......
Fran wasn’t favored in 2001 and AU wasnt favored in the Tides first visit to Jordan-Hare. And there are countless others that the favorite wasn’t victorious…..that is the nature of the beast….LONG LIVE THE BEAST.
Its
not a load of crap. Look at the history of this series, not just one game. The exception does not prove the rule. You don’t know what you’re talking about. Go back and read my post, the favored team usually wins.
Whats your definition of usually......60%?
what a broad statement…… and I dare say I have been present for and witnessed enough to say it is usually a very close game and the records don’t mean crap. So go back to wikipedia and study some more ……junior.
Websters
defines ‘usually’ as “found in ordinary practice or in the ordinary course of events.” Just take the last 10 years, the underdog has won twice, so thats…. oh I dunno 80%? something like that. Don’t paint this game as something its not, its not some hugely volitale anything can happen type of game. It isn’t. Not recently anyway. I didn’t say there haven’t been some upsets either. Keep talking down to me by the way, I love it. Just further demonstrates how scared you are of the Tuberville’s ears-sized beating your pathetic team is going to endure. Whats left of it that is.
While
its true that most things in life tend to be cyclical, that is an extremely simplistic rationalization. And considering that this situation is 100% self inflicted, I don’t think the logic of “its just time for us to be down right now” holds up.
Logic
would it be fair to say that Alabama shouldnt be as good as they are…. personally i dont think they are since they dont have a national championship caliber QB but i think the other pieces are in place but we will see how the rest of the year goes….. Auburn isnt as bad as people think nor were they as good as people made them out to be at the beginning of the season. The opposite is true for alabama
I once asked the question why are there so many Alabama fans that never graduated from the university? I was told its because their parents were fans and it was passed down.........(my response after a pause).....similar to racism.....?
Bama's achilles heel is depth.....
and unless someone can expose that flaw they will have the opportunity to keep winning and wooing the voters. If they manage to get to Atlanta with no losses or one loss that would likely be enough to get them in the NC provided they win the SEC.
What
are you stalking me? Yes our big issue is depth, you know it, we know it everybody knows it. What, you want a cookie?
Stalking you? lol.
Last time I checked this was an AU blog and I have frequented Jay’s blogs for several years now. If you don’t want to have someone pont out the obvious answer to your rather unrevealing and homeresque post then maybe the bammer blog site would be a better spot for you.
What
truths have you unearthed here Todd? That Alabama has depth issues? That Bear Bryant drank whisky? That I’m an Alabama fan posting on an Auburn blog? You’re right, Todd. You’re a regular Bob Woodward.
he went to the NFL?
he was atleast good enough for the NFL to give him a shot….. Jessica Parker Wilson wont be as fortunate.
