Burns-Now You See?
Four downs, Auburn had inside the five to score. Two relatively wide open receivers missed. One COMPLETELY wide open receiver missed.
Kodi Burns has tried all season to hijack the offense. With comments like: "I'm a big-time play maka" and "I am an NFL style quaata back", Burns shamelessly divided our offensive team and our coaching staff. Well, Saturday, against the SEC's worst defense, Burns got his shot. What did he do? He missed receiver after receiver. He purposely called his own number over twenty times.
In the game, Burns and Todd(not going to place all blame on "Superman") led Auburn on 57 plays for NEGATIVE YARDAGE. Coincidentally, Auburn is number one in the NATION in negative plays.
So, what should happen next? It is my unprofessional opinion that if Burn's attitude doesn't make a shift towards an openess of teamwork that he should never play for Auburn again. Hell, I agree with Franklin. If he really told Burns that he wasn't worth a shit, then hats off to Tony. At least someone on that coaching staff has the testicular fortitude to say it. And, I can guess who the hot-headed lineman was that Franklin fought with......Could it be Super-Kodi's high school teammate LEE ZIEMBA?
I bet my left nut it was. Ziemba has developed quite the hot-head. And, in short, has played poorly all year long. Auburn and Tuberville have some serious problems on this football team, and we need to deal with them immidiately. I have never seen a Tuberville team play less like a real team in my life. It looks to me like, while we were having a good time laughing at BAMA for having serious internal problems-that some severe ones for us manifested.
Auburn is always going to be my team, but I hope that if Tubs wants to keep his job-he will sort out the bad seeds. I don't believe our problem lies with the coaching staff solely. There are guys on this team who appear to have legitamately lost their minds. I hope and pray they sort it out.
Also, I hear that Tubs is exploring MY Barrett trotter recommendation. Hell, even Caudle would be a nice change. Give the man a shot! Anyways, I think that Tubs has seen enough and is actively making changes to this team as we speak.
And, just so we are all clear, I hope that if cooler heads and maturity do not prevail that Ziemba and Burns get their walking papers soon!
War Eagle!
P.S. Burns, if you were worth a shit, you'd be playing!

I don't understan your vendetta against Kodi
Look, he is not very good. But if you can’t see the potential, you’re kidding yourself. To me, Todd has no potential to develop into a good QB. I can at least see some areas where Kodi could improve.
That being said, I want to see Neil Caudle in the game against WVU. Yesterday’s performance on offense was offensive.

Ditto PowerOfDixieland's comments
Have you watched the first 5 games of the season? If you can’t see the differences in Todd and Burns from a potential standpoint, you can not evaluate talent. If you want an immobile, weak-armed, indecisive QB who does not appear to inspire the offense, then Todd is your guy. We saw Todd’s best, it was the TD drive late in the game against LSU. We have yet to see Burns’ best.
I have watched 3 or 4 Burns interviews and haven’t gotten any indication that he is self-centered or narcissistic at all. And since you obviously know Burns and how he has such a poor attitude, give a call on his cell and try to talk some sense in to him.
dont forget
Todd stares down his recievers
I once asked the question why are there so many Alabama fans that never graduated from the university? I was told its because their parents were fans and it was passed down.........(my response after a pause).....similar to racism.....?
Really?
I got the pay per view. I saw how bad Burns is. How can you say he’s a talent? By the way that interview is on al.com…..try going to Tigerland.com and look from there don’t have the link handy. And, you really think you can evaluate talent? Come on! Really? Burns is good? How do you figure? What has he done that makes him a better talent? I ALREADY said Todd wasn’t any good, but he IS better than Kodi-aka “Supaman”. I’m tired of my Auburn friends being misguided by this delusion. He’s TERRIBLE!!!!!!!! POINT BLANK!!!!! GET A CLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What makes him better from a decision standpoint? He want stay in the pocket and let the plays develope!!!!!! He is the essence of INDECISION!!!! Damn! Who are you people…
Oh and Power, I see Caudle or Trotter against WVU- couldn’t do any worse……
He's not any good right now
In fact, he’s terrible. But he has potential for sure. He’s got a rocket arm and great speed. If he can sit down, work really hard on learning the offense (whichever one it is we’ll be running) and also put in a ton of work on his throwing mechanics (which are definitely terrible right now), he could improve.
With Chris Todd, he has a noodle arm, makes terrible decisions, and is about as mobile and as good at evading sacks as Brandon Cox. The only place for his game to improve is his decision-making.
Caudle was a 4-star QB at one point, I’m kinda surprised he hasn’t been given more of a look. I’d rather not see Trotter lose his redshirt.

I agree
In our current situation…we have a two-headed starter. In my opinion, Caudle is the back-up. I haven’t sen one good argument as to why he’s not been given a shot.

I will disagree to a point.....
Kodi is still green and has alot to learn. I remember hearing all the same crap about Jason Campbell (where is he again?). Kodi does have more potential ie…a strong arm, good athlete, good running ability. All of those things amount to a great deal of potential. Will that translate into a future AU QB that can win games? Well that largely depends on coaching and the kids desire to learn and win. Time will tell. I don’t think that Kodi is the answer to winning games this season (in fact check my past post and you will see that I never did) however, I do believe he can be that guy in the future and if Caudle can’t pick the team up and run the offense better then you might as well start Kodi and let him learn from his mistakes. As it is right now he is making the mistakes and getting rotated with a QB that is just as bad or worse. If we can’t right the ship this season let Kodi grow from it if thats possible. To burn Trotters redshirt at this point in the season would be folly just as it was to burn Kodi’s last season. I truly hope that Tuberville doesn’t do that.
i was at the game. sorry dude but you are wrong. Kodi isn’t winning any heisman trophies anytime soon for sure, but Todd might be….yes he is the WORST AUburn QB i have ever seen. that being said might as well see what sort of trash we’ve got in Caudle and Trotter. whatever, my brains hurts too much from watching this team play. and regardless of who the QB is if you aren’t gonna try and commit to the damn run then we aren’t gonna win any fucking games.
From what I saw...
Todd shoudn’t even get another snap and Byrum dang sure shoudn’t even dress out!
Auburn Elvis
Come on, Arie.
…..You quit a couple of weeks ago, because we were all “too negative.” Cheer up. Let’s rally together, and get behind our troubled team.
…..Burns missed open guys, we saw it live. He just needs reps, and confidence. Todd CAN’T hit ’em, right now, with a wounded arm. Throwing more green guys into the mix is NOT going to help.
…..Burns was a 5-star, and can be the next great quarterback out of Auburn. We’ve got to get behind him, and not sling internet rumor junk at him!
…..Come on, guy! War Eagle! We’ve gotta get fighting mad, and get behind this team!
Oh I know!
But that was before we lost 2 arguably the worst 2 teams in the SEC. As a matter of fact, we are very lucky that we squeaked by Tennessee and Miss St. Sorry, Acid, I just have to draw the line somewhere, and that line ended with a loss to Arkansas. We only have one for sure win on our schedule, and our team seems like they are in total disarray. If there is dissension, I want it to be remedied immiiately!!

My Opinion
I thought he did well. with the limited playing he has seen this year. I think if he can get a couple starts under his belt he will do great for us. He looked a hell of alot better then Todd

best quote since the loss...
It looks to me like, while we were having a good time laughing at BAMA for having serious internal problems-that some severe ones for us manifested.
Burn’s has plenty of talent, remember the bowl game last year ? He had some throws that looked good(on sat). He just needs time, I know he missed a wide open receiver on the 4th down play. Everyone on the offense is so confused, you can’t honestly believe that Kodi has had his fair shot with Todd coming in and throwing ducks every other series. At this point they just need to name a starter and go with him good bad or indifferent. Kodi has plenty of talent he just had not had a fair opportunity to showcase it. After all he did drive them down to the 5 yard line. Todd looks horrible the worst ducks I have ever seen…
Truth to the rumor mills,
Briefly heard that Franklin told Burns he was not worth a @#$%!!! Also , that Ziemba was involved in an altercation with Franklin. Is there anywhere ,or anybody that can substantiate the rumors. If these are true ,I can see where the dissention is coming from.Anybody have any idea about the rumors??
Trotter IN??
Looks like Trotter will practice with the second team, and get a considerable amount of reps the next 11 days. Maybe the future is now!!
where did you get that info
this is going to be good where did you get this? Is chris gonna be pushed back to 3 string. And by putting him in the game would we be wasting his redshirt?
I once asked the question why are there so many Alabama fans that never graduated from the university? I was told its because their parents were fans and it was passed down.........(my response after a pause).....similar to racism.....?
Phillip Marshall...
…..Thinks that Todd is unlikely to play again, this year, due to his arm. He got hit on it, I saw, during the game, and was favoring the heck out of it.
Unfortunate
but may be a blessing in disguise

Burns didn't play great
But if you think that Todd really played that much better than Burns, you must have been smoking crack during the game. As bad as Burns played on Saturday, we wouldn’t have been in the game without him.
Also
this is his first full year kinda….. todd has been playing college ball for how long….. whatever todd was going to do he has done. The defenses have figured him out. Burns has greater upside enough said

ummm
uh arie gold, mr positivity, have you ever watched auburn football AT ANY GREAT LENGTH? if i recall, there was a certain qb that had several seasons of decent but nothing to write home about playing. he went through three offensive coordinators but when he finally settled in, he led his team to an undefeated season. his name was jason campbell. jason was drafted by the redskins and it has taken him two seasons to settle in there and he is now one of the better qbs in the league… so here is my point. chris todd spent two years at texas tech and then transferred to a jutco. he only came to auburn because of tony franklin. because of that, i feel like chris todd had his chance to prove himself and had he been a good enough qb, wouldnt he be the starter for texas tech now? he didnt care about auburn in the first place. he cared about being a starting qb at a respectable sec school running franklin’s offense. had franklin been hired by some other school in the sec, i bet todd would have gone there. chris todd’s settling in time has passed… i read this blog because its one of the better, if not the best, blog for auburn football. there are definitely people here with hot heads, myself being one of them, but at the end of the day, the majority of us are not personally attacking the players. these are still just young kids that get to do what they love, but they are having to live up to enormous expectations, physical demands, etc. all while trying to get an education. if you cant just critique his performance without throwing in all those personal jabs, then maybe you arent really a plainsman either.
Seriously?
You are going to tell me that Campbell was ever good at Auburn? He played better in 2003 than he did in 2004, he made better passes but receivers never caught the ball. In 2004, the receivers started to come around was the difference. If you think that Campbell had anything to do with going undefeated look at the lineup.
Aromashodu – 7th round pick.
Wallace
McNeill – 2nd round pick
Grubbs – 1st round pick
Ingle
Lindsey
Reddick
Taylor – 6th round pick
J. Campbell – 1st round pick
C. Williams – 1st round pick
R. Brown (RB) – 1st round pick
Daniel Cobb could have stayed for an 8th year and we would have gone undefeated. If it isn’t Tubberville’s time to go, we at least need to get a receivers coach that can teach receivers to run routes properly, an offensive lines coach that can teach a guy to pass block if we are sticking with the spread and a quarterbacks coach that can teach a quarterback properly.
I understand that Knox is one of main recruiters, so make him recruiting coordinator and let him focus on that and hire a good receivers coach. If we stick with the spread, dump Nall and Ensminger and let the new O.C being in his guys. Let’s commit if we are going to stick with it.
#12
Todd….while I have nothing against him I can’t stand what #12 represents….Cox…interception after interception after interception! We should retire that number like how buidings don’t have a 13th floor.
LSU was definitely last week's dud
I thought Florida would expose you guys, just because you were a top 5 team but the only major win you had to hang your hat on was a victory over us. And you’ve seen how bad we are. I kept saying Florida by double-digits, but I honestly didn’t expect 30! LSU could still be a dud this year, their duddery (is that a word?) will only be outmatched by Auburn’s. We are the true duds this year!

Jumping the gun
Defenatly First half duds. we should see how the rest of the year plays out.
I once asked the question why are there so many Alabama fans that never graduated from the university? I was told its because their parents were fans and it was passed down.........(my response after a pause).....similar to racism.....?
There is no way that AU can run the table...
That means at best you guys will be 4-4 in the SEC, which is a dud year for the team picked to win the west, and fans who though they’d win the NC. LoL.
LSU wont be a "dud" this year.
We weren’t predicted to win the west, and 3 losses would be par for the course this year, as I’ve said many times. If we only lose 2 (still very likely), I think this is a team that beat many expectations. 4 losses would be a “dud” year, and the W over Auburn secured that that wont happen. Thanks guys.
But would LSU be a dud if...
Would a two loss season for LSU be a dud year for them had they not lost Perilloux? The uncertainty at qb for LSU dropped the expectations for them and they have done surprisingly well at qb in my opinion.
That's a good question...
I think the answer is yes. If RP had been here I think people would have expected to win the SEC again.
Personally, I don’t think our season would have gone any different at this point if RP was here though.
