Live Thread, West Virginia Edition!
War Eagle, everybody! Let's hear it for the Tigers, and some national TV exposure! Here's hoping that the Tigers get back on track, and beat the Mountaineers. On a cold, blustery evening high in West Virginia, the Auburn Tigers have a great chance to set things right, by upsetting front-running Big East leaders, West Virginia. We'll be here all night, calling the game and pulling for our Tigers!

Well, we haven't even kicked off yet...

…..it is the safeties. They can run stop some, but the coverage isn’t there.

…..Let’s hope Emsminger has some halftime adjustments. WVA is going to spy Kodi. They might drop a DB (They had 5 in every play, the first half.), and go either 4 linemen, or 4 backers. They’re going to be focussed on stopping the run, to be sure.
……We need some play-action bombs, max protect, with speedsters like Slaughter, Dunn, or Swinton. We’ll get the ball first, and it’s imperative that we don’t go three and out, and give Pat White field position.

we have had success throwing the ball so I don’t see’em selling out to stop the run.
Kodi Burns has the talent to be our guy
He seems confident without having to look over his shoulder. We need a strong second half on the defensive end and more ball control.

What really impressed me...
……Was that on those 3rd and medium-shorts… We knew it was going to be a QB draw. They knew. Even slobberin’ Lou knew. Burns still got it done!
AND,
……For the first time ever, Burns displayed the ability to get down and avoid a pointless hit. He KNOWS that we need him, now.
Offensively,
…..I’d THINK that WVA would run the ball till Auburn proves they can stop it. Can Auburn step up and contain it?

…..Will WVA try an onsides? Doubt it, but we need to be ready.

Honestly,
…..I’m not impressed with Emsminger’s 2nd half calls. Sure, we can’t block in the middle, but we’ve seen NO I-formation looks in the second half. Went away from what was working, AGAIN.

Our offensive line...
……Looked AWFUL, in the 2nd half. We had five blockers working on 3 rushers, and couldn’t do anything. We looked like Bama’s line in 2005. Burns really wasn’t given a chance. Hugh Nall, what happened?
Offensive line, safeties.
…..We lost BIG, there. Our defensive line wasn’t the best, but they held their own. We’ve got a couple of days off. We need to run those O-line guys up and down the stairs till they vomit.

…..It was a comical “dancin’ with the stars” effort by Ethridge and McNeil. They kept trying to hug the receiver at arm’s length, and let him go for the TD.
We did completely abandon the power running game.....
and I don’t understand……. we could’nt contain the outside running (our depth at defensive end and safety was exposed big time.
I've been trying...
…..To cut Auburn’s assistant offensive coaches some slack, but HOW do we keep getting worse and worse up front on offense? We can’t even block a 3-man front, now? Two point, three point, we mixed it up some, this time, but we failed miserably in the second half. Ziemba came up with his right foot, repeatedly in the second half. Why? Left tackle, step back with the left foot at the snap. Simple. Why can’t we do even that, 8 games into the season?
Gotta go.
……It’s time to issue some grades. We got a great effort early, but fell apart in the end. Auburn fails again, 34-17. Worst loss of the season, to date.

War Eagle. We can still salvage the season if we ruin Bama’s season. Acis agreed this is becoming a disturbing trend with the assistant coaches. My thought is we clean house on the offensive side of the ball and let a new guy bring in his staff.

That’s what Tubbs should have done with Franklin in the first place if he was really committed to the change. Anyways, I hope you guys ruin Bama’s season. Good luck the rest of the way except for when the Dawgs visit the Plains.
