War Eagle!
Happy Game Day! When I have been saying this week that Auburn has a chance to beat Bama, I have been getting some strange looks. Granted hunting is more coveted than football, by every measure. But the most common comment that I get back is “Isn’t Alabama #1 in the Nation?”. So what? You don’t quit before you get there, because Bama is #1. If the AU Defense can crunch the holes and avoid allowing big plays, at the same time that the AU Offense capitalizes on visits the red zone, we have more than a shot baby.

It ain't over...
….till it’s over. I remember sitting in the kitchen, many years ago, kind of half listening to the Iron Bowl on the radio (it wasn’t on TV), and putting together one of those plastic Revel models. Bama was undefeated, and we Tigers had no chance, or so the experts said:
If that doesn't get you ready,
I don’t know what will. Thanks for the reminder; it will help keep things in perspective today. The pecans are almost roasted; is it game time yet???

Mmmm....
…..roasted pecans! I’m counting on turkey sandwiches, and chex mix, today. Made both yesterday, while watching the wheels come off the LSU season.
I got started
,,,,with Bloody Mary’s while smoking a Boston Butt. I’ll be switching to beer real soon,
WAR EAGLE
And since the Bama folk so despised my eggnog recipe...
Acid Reign’s Chex Mix
You need:
2 baking pans
1 bowl
1 whisk
1½ sticks of melted butter (margarine, or worse substitutes, will RUIN this recipe!)
¼ cup of Worcestershire sauce (NOT Lea and Perrin’s. French’s or Heinz!)
3 tsp. of Lawry’s season salt
3 garlic buds, minced
1/4 of an onion, minced
4 cups of Corn Chex
4 cups of Rice Chex
4 handfuls of pretzel sticks
Directions:
In a bowl, heat butter in microwave for 1 minute and 10 seconds on full power.
Mix in Worcestershire sauce, season salt, minced garlic and onion in with butter, Mix with whisk.
In each pan, mix Corn Chex, Rice Chex, pretzel sticks, and half the butter/spice mix.
Bake in the oven at 250°F for 1 hour, stirring every 15 min.
That kid in the picture above...
…looks like the spawn of Eli Gold…
Back in my days of being in Apha Nu Gamma (Alabama National Guard), we’d come into the office and there would be some Bammers listening to one of their games on the radio, waiting for their F-16 to come back, (Air Guard) and we’d hear old Eli, and it was required for Barners to ask “who’s winning the race”, or “I didn’t know they raced on Saturdays…”
by War Eagle Atlanta on Nov 29, 2008 11:17 AM CST reply actions
The Bama guys...
…..would also have to ask the score, too, I’ll bet! Eli and Co. can go 30 minutes of a low scoring game, without announcing the score, or where the clock is…
Georgia Bulldogs...
…..have just VICTIMIZED Tech’s D, so far. We got an excellent demonstration of why Rhodes was reluctant to go man-to-man against Green and Massaquoi… Tech’s corner, #1, got burnt twice.
Clemson
is up early over South Carolina. And what’s his face #7, almost threw a pick.
I get to watch the game today on an actual television…not through the internet. This is assuming that the Montana Grizz v. Texas St. play off game won’t be televised on KPAX (local CBS).
by Tiger on the mountain on Nov 29, 2008 11:51 AM CST reply actions
That's great!
…..I’m wondering if the kickoff will be late, OR, if CBS will run the UGA/GT game over, and miss part of the Iron Bowl. That would bite…
They allotted...
3.5 hours for the Georgia game, so hopefully it won’t run over that…
by War Eagle Atlanta on Nov 29, 2008 12:55 PM CST up reply actions
I am thinking
that we may escape that unfortunate turn of scheduling events. Right now on our CBS station there is the Chase Stock Roughneck rodeo championship of some sort..no UGA game for us. Hopefully that means that the Iron Bowl will commence as planned out here. How weird would that be??
Your chex mix recipe reminds me of my Nana’s :)

Does anyone else think
that it is a little rude that there was a “leak” that Lane Kiffin will be named the next Vols coach, days before ’Philip Furmer Appreciation Day"? What a slap in the face.
by Tiger on the mountain on Nov 29, 2008 12:37 PM CST reply actions
Kiffin's a strange...
…..hire, in any event. Yep, UT coaches in my lifetime tend to get a rude bye-bye. Bill Battle was a good coach, with a winning record, and he got unceremoniously dumped in the mid-70s for Johnny-come-lately Majors, who had won a National Title at Pitt, a couple of years before. Then, of course, Majors was supposedly “stabbed in the back,” by Phillip Fulmer, who took over the job while Majors was undergoing heart surgery. Now, the new coach is announced the day before Fulmer Appreciation Day. Go Vols.
Sylvester Croom out at Miss State...
It just came across the ticker on television. I’m a little surprised.
Jay Coulter
Oh my gosh!
that is really surprising.
by Tiger on the mountain on Nov 29, 2008 12:48 PM CST up reply actions
Kiffin...
…..has NO college head-coaching experience, and is being thrown into the SEC fire in a division with Mark Richt, Urban Meyer, Steve Spurrier, and Bobby Johnson. It’s a tall order…
…..One speculation I heard last night, was that Lane Kiffin would bring his dad Monte Kiffin, in from the Tampa Bay Bucs, to run the defense. That would be a good move. Kiffin has done a good job with the Bucs. The other item was that Kiffin and Ed Orgeron are buddies, and that coach O would be back in the SEC. That would help Vol recruiting, for sure!
I have had some
of the same thoughts. Coach O would help him surf the SEC, but I think that he needs more SEC people if he wants to transition smoothly.
by Tiger on the mountain on Nov 29, 2008 12:50 PM CST up reply actions
If Croom can't win in Starkville,
….who can? I wonder if loyalty to offensive coaches, especially Woody McCorvey, was a factor?
Did the administration...
….feel that the Bulldogs would never move the ball, if Croom stuck with McCorvey’s West Coast scheme?
No kidding.
I always thought that Croom got the shaft in the UA head coach search. What is MSU thinking?

I've been...
…..hunting all morning! I thought about photographing an old T-shirt, that says “the time has come, beat Bama!” It has a cartoon of a dead elephant, and a tiger with bloody claws on top. The shirt’s too old and faded, though. I wore it to work for the 1982 Iron Bowl.
Did you all see CBS at Halftime?
Brando said that Saban admitted yesterday to spending a few days this week looking at Florida tapes. Let’s hope the team is equally arrogant.
Jay Coulter
On GameDay this morning,
they kept talking about how Saban had his team on ‘razor sharp focus on this game’. Usually that doesn’t include looking at tape for a team that you play next week.
South Carolina just scored a TD, maybe the second half won’t be the Clemson Show Part II…..
by Tiger on the mountain on Nov 29, 2008 1:08 PM CST up reply actions
And....
……it will be even more delicious to beat those scumbags if Danielson and Co. are preaching the Saban gospel, like I think they might.
I'm pulling for Georgia and the SEC...
…..but I do like seeing some good old-timey option football! Tech just beat UGA badly on the corner, on an option-pitch!
Wow,
looks like the Dawgs are allowing them to stay in the game……
by Tiger on the mountain on Nov 29, 2008 1:14 PM CST reply actions
Yeah,
…..but the UGA receivers are just ABUSING the tech receivers when Tech goes cover-one. As long as Stafford doesn’t fold, UGA might score 50.
It is saying
on the ESPN ticker that Croom resigned, but y’alls feeling is that the Admin dictated the resignation?

Don't know.
…..al.com’s breaking news feed says that the university will make an official statement shortly.
Thanks

I was wondering if...
…..Tuscaloosa is as fog shrouded as Birmingham is. And it’s MUDDY, outside. Rained all night, I think.
OOHHH
Kind of reminds me of 2000. Messy, but we pulled it out in the end.
by Tiger on the mountain on Nov 29, 2008 1:25 PM CST reply actions
will be a mud bowl,
…..though. Probably. Bryant Denny does have a pretty good crown in the center, as I recall.
OK
off to walk the BearDog, before the game. We have PBR’s, roasted pecans, and I have enough Auburn Spirit for everyone that I am watching the game with! WAR DAMN EAGLE!

UGA...
…..is letting it slip away. Tech has tied it at 28-all, from a 28-12 halftime deficit. That option is wearing on them, methinks. That, and the Bulldog penchant for penalties. Georgia is loading up on those, once again.
Time for Stafford...
…..to get back on track. Midway through the 3rd quarter, Ga. Tech leads Georgia, 35-28.
The Dawgs...
…..are going to HAVE to bring the strong safety up, and put him on the QB, Nesbitt. They’ve got to get Curran out on Dwyer. Dwyer is eating UGA DBs UP.
Officially signing off
now…Thanks for the updates on the UGA game! In order to keep the peace with Mr. Tohm..there shall be no blogging during the game (what we do for love or at least peace within a marriage).
I am so excited that kick off is less than 45 minutes away. I had some commentary on Scarbinksy’s article this week…but that will wait til later I guess. War EAGLE! See you on the flip!

Latest news from Tuscaloosa...
……Chris Slaughter is nowhere to be seen in warmups. May be gone for good. Just what we needed, against a good Bama secondary.
Weather Report...
…..After a quick run to the Vestavia ABC Store, it’s VERY foggy on top of Shades Mountain, and misting rain. More to the game situation, reports from Tuscaloosa indicate much of the same in T-Town.
Some pix and report from a pro:
http://www.alabamawx.com/?p=12976
Stafford struggling...
…..but Paul Johnson’s wishbone-like offense sat on it too soon. A line-drive punt, and Knowshon Moreno breaks out on a Heisman-like run, and UGA is within 3, 38-35, still with 10:23 left.
…..I don’t think this game will be over before 2:30…
On 3rd and 7
UGA gives up a LOOONG option pitch to the short side, for a TD. After the point, Tech leads, 45-35, with 7:13 left.
Willie Martinez...
…..may be looking for a job, after UGA’s defense has disappeared in a number of games, this year. Tech has 33 second half points, and it’s not over yet…
Stafford...
……nearly forced a pick. Not a wise throw. If Tech comes up with that bouncing thing, it’s over.,
on 2nd and 4
…..The dive, for 2. Brings up 3rd and 2, clock still running, will be under 2:30. UGA has one time out remaining. A 1st down would end it.
Out to the 32,
…..1st and 10. I set. Corner blitz coming, Burns thows it over, Smith not looking. Mistake on the receivers part.
2nd and 10
…..Up to the line, I. Draw. Fannin, is buried for a loss. Middle collapsed under the weight of Terrence Cody.
3rd and 11.
…..Shotgun. Burns scrambles, nearly throws a pick, wouldn’t have picked up the first, anyway. 4 man rush, Cody collapsed the pocket.
Game back on, after commercials.
……Bama will start with 2 wide, power det. Up the middle Coffee, a yard or two. Right at Marks.
2nd and 8
…..3 wide. Short drop, batted up in the air by Coleman, who was LOOSE, in the backfield. I think they wanted to screen it over him.
No fumble.
4th down. Fitzgerald, punting from his own endzone. Short, fair-caught by Dunn at the 49. Only 37 yards! Auburn football!
Can Auburn move Terrence Cody?
……We were doing it, till Rod Smith missed the read on the corner blitz, last time, and put us in second and long.
1st and 10
…..Tigers will come out in the offset I. Bootleg out the back side, hits a wide-open McKenzie on the crossing route, dumped after a 5 yard gain.
3rd and 6
…..Shotgun. Short bunchdown the middle, Derrick Winter dropped a curl route pass that would have been a 1st down.
Tide out after another LONG...
…..break, setting up in the 1 back set. Handoff Coffee, BURIED by Bynes! Wow, loss of 1!
It will be...
…..3rd and 2. Handoff right, and Doolittle and Coleman BURIED. 1st down out around the 22/
2nd and 14
…..SHotgun. 3 man front, Wilson with time, Hanks with the catch over the middle for the first down.
Bama with a new set of downs.
From the AU 39. Dropped the snap, and Wilson has to fall on it at the 40.
3rd and 7
……Shotgun, empty , now 1 back. Short drop, toss to Jones on the hitch, and Powers stops him a yard short!
4th and an inch.
…..Refs can’t see, either. Bama going, Auburn loses the TO. Jumbo set. This will be hard to stop.
What will Bama do?
……Tiffin in on 4th and short. The 37 yarder, good. Alabama leads, 3-0, on the last play of the 1st quarter.
At the end of 1,
……Auburn with the big stop to hold it to 3. Auburn had one drive with a couple of first downs, but has gone nowhere since. Two receiver errors have doomed drives. Predictably, the middle of the O-line is having problems. On D, Auburn let Bama mount a 14 play drive for points, and it ate a lot of clock.
Starting the second quarter,
……Tiffin will kick. It’s to Davis, at the 10. Slung down by the first man, at the 22.
1st and 10 Tigers.
…..Burns will open in the offset I. Play action, deep, into cover 2, knocked away.
2nd and 10
……Took a shot, but we’re behind the sticks, not, Tate outside, tightropes the sideline for about 3.
3rd and 7
……Shotgun. 2 backs. Toss to Fannin on the release, gets out over the 41! Beat the safety blitz!
4rd and 6
…..Key play. Shotgun. Corner blitz coming. No, back out, flagged for illegal formation, knocked down pass.
Bama ball, 1st and 10.
…..Time of possession tilting in favor of the Tide. Bama sticking with the plan, and they operate from the shotgun from the 35, a dump to Ingram over the middle.
2nd and 11
……Bama in the shotgun. Pressure, over the middle, low, McFadden knocks it away from Walker!
New set of Bama downs,
from the AU 40, Coffee will break about 5 tackles, and go the distance. TD Alabama.
That was run right over Goggins,
….and Marks. Craig Stevens with the whiff, Zack Etheridge with the soft hands.
Tigers at their own
….24. 3 wide, under center. Stretch, and Arenas sweeps his legs out for a short gain.
3rd and 7
……SHotgun. Blitz coming. corner picked up, but not the safety up the middle. Burns sacked.
Bama in business again.
…..They’ll go 1st and 10 against a tiring AU defense, from the Bama 38. I can understand the no call. Durst stood there with his leg in the air a long time, and I think the Bama guy was pushed into him.
Wilson
……lines up up on 1st down. 8:42 left in the half. Empty backfield. Wilson overthrows Jones, well covered.
2nd and 10
……Conventional set. Counter, Coffee picks up an effortless 18. Pulling guard, tight end, didn’t even have to hit anybody.
2nd and short
…..Toss, hit behind the line, butCoffee won’t go down, Goggins holds him just a little short of the first.
I just want everyone on this board to know...
I’m at watching the game with my auburn fiance’s family wearing orange and blue…with my LSU visor. Geaux Tigers!
That will bring up 3rd and 6.
……Wilson will operate from the shotgun. time, throws underneath, Powers, breaks it up!
Powers and Julio Joness....
……are having a heck of a battle. Jones got one key first down on soft coverage, but Powers has knocked several away beautifully!
Time for Auburn to GET SOMETHING DONE,
…..on offense. Pick up those blitzes. Bama is bringing a LOT of players.
3rd and long. That's not going to work, with a safety AND a corner coming.
linebackers are laying back, and containing.
Bama has the ball,
with about 4 minutes left in the half. Time to lean on that D. We need a turnover, or even defensive points!
We have GOT to get that ball out better,
…..when they bring seven. A jailbreak screen would be good, but we won’t have time to run that in the first half.
Dunn back.
……Fitzgerald will whack it good!Fair catch by Dunn at the AU 27. 2:19, and it’s time for CBS to pay some more bills.
Or not.
……1 back set, Lester! Burns on the fake/boot, hit, Fanney can’t get him down, and Burns scrambles for positive yardage!
Both sides trying to regroup,
……Auburn’s into scoring position, in Bama land. Saban WILL blitz. Burns CAN’T take a sack!
Five seconds....
……and it will be a 4th down. Hull will have about a 42 yard attempt, coming up. Wet ball, wet grass, but no wind.
His mom ...
know he’s out there?? LOL
Ever wonder why God painted a beautiful sky blue and a breathtaking sunset orange?
Hull in.
……it’s a 40 yarder. It’s RIGHT DOWN THE MIDDLE! But, timeout Saban, just before the snap. Wow.
Burns is 5-14 ...
… not all of that is dropped balls!
Ever wonder why God painted a beautiful sky blue and a breathtaking sunset orange?
Well, it's legal, right now.
……It was perfectly timed. But that timeout didn’t do it. It was a failure on the snap, hold, and timing.
When that call Saban made...
…..looks stupid, is when the kicker misses, and on the second chance, makes it. It’s a dice roll, either way. When you’re playing someone with inconsistent special teams, it’s a good call. Bama had nothing to lose. Good strategy.
HaHa....
Number one team in the nation gettin scared of a undersized auburn team tryin to be like FL with the kicker freeze.. I say put Fannin in the back of the eye and lets get this thing rollin in the second half!! War Eagle! we can get this done!
The strategy matchup....
……that is killing us, is when we get into long yardage. Most of the time, Saban/Steele is sending seven guys. We have six blockers, 5 linemen and a back. We’re mostly getting everyone picked up, too. Burns, on that last drive, did a LOT better job figuring out where that unblocked guy was, and making him miss. Intermediate routes are open, but we’re going to have to do a pump fake, and some double moves or combo routes. Bama is jumping the hot stuff.
We HAVE had better success up the middle,
….that I would have thought. Bama’s linebackers are playing read and react, and are closing it down before it picks up too much, though. If we go run heavy, they’ll tighten up. They’ll give us three or four, on an occasional run down. We need to make ’em pay, on those blitzes!
…..Kodi needs to thow more accurately, too. I’m sure it’s difficult, in the mist, with wet balls. I KNEW, early in the week, that a rain forecast wasn’t favorable to us.
Shockingly,
…..both Auburn lines are playing pretty well. I’d like more pressure on Wilson, but it hasn’t been bad. Wilson has let it go pretty quickly, most passes. Our heel, right now, is linebackers, and safety run support. Expect Bama to pound it some more.
I wouldn't expect Bama...
…..to change much, on D. We need some HELP, out of our special teams.Bama is only averaging 19 yards per kick return, we need a mistake on this kickoff. A fumble. Pinned deep. Something. We can’t let ARenas get out, for sure!
We've GOT to be more...
…..physical at linebacker, next year. I think they spent too much of the pre-season chasing slot receivers and tight ends.
Well if Blackmon comes back, and I think he will…..we’ll have him and Eltorro Freeman….can’t get much more physical than that…
Bama lines it up at the 20
……1st and 10. Shotgun, empty backfield! Rolls, escapes, deep throw, McFadden runs over Stover early.
New set of Bama downs,
…..at the 35. Offset I, Coffee off the left side, bouncing off tackles, gets 5 on the counter.
2nd and 5
…..1 back, play fake, flushed, hit by Bynes, doesn’t wrap up. WIlson throws it out of bounds. Missed opportunity, there.
Possession play,
…..for Bama. Auburn showing 4 man rush, now blitz. Wilson pressured, throws it right to Powers, who short arms it, incomplete.
Defense has ...
largely been AUsome … it’s the offense that hasn’t shown up yet
Ever wonder why God painted a beautiful sky blue and a breathtaking sunset orange?
That's going to be on Powers,
……I think. Bama with the point, blocked! Auburn has it, but there’s a flag.
It's okay ...
we’re now set up for AR’s prediction … 17-16 :)
Ever wonder why God painted a beautiful sky blue and a breathtaking sunset orange?
So far,
…..it’s been a case of Auburn breakdowns. We’re matching up physically, but making mistakes.
Missed blitz pickups, handed 'em the last TD.
…..Several broken covers, a missed tackle on a back. IT’s been that kind of year.
Fannin
… is doing “okay” at best …. 8 for 28
Ever wonder why God painted a beautiful sky blue and a breathtaking sunset orange?
3rd and long,
…….it would be nice to hold ’em here! Wilson screens to Ingram, we just let him go for 27.
Julio Jones
… is a prob that’s only going to get worse in the years to come … he’s the most impressive weapon they have on the field
Ever wonder why God painted a beautiful sky blue and a breathtaking sunset orange?
Empty backfield,
….the corner route, thrown too shallow, knocked out by McFadden. Alabama still leads, 22-0, with 7 minutes left in the third quarter.
It's worth noting...
…..Barfield’s last 4 teams, in the Iron Bowl, scored 21, 16, 18, and 18. We are a long way from that.
Tiffin to kick...
…..it’s a squbb, no one fields it, till Fannin, way back inside the 10. Backed up, again. Should have gone out of bounds, didn’t bounce our way. That’s the way it’s gone.
3rd and 9
…..Shotgun, Fannin in the backfield. Going deep, over the head of Winter, had double coverage.
Durst in to punt...
…..It’s to Arenas at the 34, all the way out to the 50. If Harden doesn’t hold on, that’s six.
1st and 10
…..Bama on the move in Tiger land. 1 back, up the gut, let him out again. Poor linebacker tackling.
1st and 10 Bama,
…..at the Auburn 21. Power set. Ingram, bashes for 7 right up the gut. Doolittle hanging on, way downfield.
We've still got...
…..more than a quarter to play. Tub needs to dig in. Croom got forced out, when Ole Miss blew them out, and the team quit. We can’t quit, here!
Tiffin to kick...
…..Davis, and this time, he doesn’t even make it to the first man. Tackles himself at the 19.
Bama will operate,
….with a big 29-0 lead, 50 seconds left in the 3rd quarter. Up the middle, Clayton holds it to a yard.
Not good ...
we’ve just got to start scoring … right now this is worse than my first year at AU in ’75 (0-28)
Ever wonder why God painted a beautiful sky blue and a breathtaking sunset orange?
2nd and 9
…..Bama will keep it simple. Up the middle, for 3. The third quarter mercifully comes to an end, with Bama leading 29-0.
1973 was worse ...
35-0 bammur … we CAN NOT let that happen
Ever wonder why God painted a beautiful sky blue and a breathtaking sunset orange?
We've beat ourselves ...
JPW is only 8-15 for 135
Ever wonder why God painted a beautiful sky blue and a breathtaking sunset orange?
The worst Auburn loss...
…..in my lifetime, was when I was two years old, in 1962, 38-0. We’re in danger of losing bigger, today. Can Tuberville survive that?
Next year,
…..we’ve GOT to tackle, at linebacker. We knew the offense was a mess. Linebacker tackling is a complete mystery, why we’re this bad.
Dunn back,
…..to field Fitzgerald’s punt. shanked, rolls out WAY short. Saban is GIVING IT, to the punter!
Auburn has good field position,
……at their own 36. Burns will set the screen, we go really slow, and it loses two.
3rd and 20
…..Shotgun. Bama bringing 5, Burns just lofts it up, no chance. They hit smith early, but no call.
Durst in,
needs to pin ‘em deep. Touched at the two, slid into the endzone, but that shouldn’t matter! It’s down on the touch!
Touchback, say...
….the zebras. I thought it was down on the touch? Oh well, I’ve been wrong about everything else, today!

Ever wonder why God painted a beautiful sky blue and a breathtaking sunset orange?
Stinker??
… thinking AR is being awfully polite :)
Ever wonder why God painted a beautiful sky blue and a breathtaking sunset orange?
This is painful...they are taking it easy on us.
I really hated us to go down this way. We really have taken a huge leap backward this year.
On what day did the Lord create Bear Bryant and couldn't he have rested on that day too?
1st and 10,
shotgun, the dump to Fannin, fumbles, ball bouncing around, I think Swinton came up with it onBama’s side of the field.
It's pretty dismal,
….right now. We’ve really come apart, in the 2nd half. Can’t do that against a good team.
Tuberville is SOLELY to blame for this debacle of a season.
Its HIS team not Franklins. Whos running the team. I say bring him back but this will not be allowed to happen again and if things start of bad next year well he may not even make it through the year.
On what day did the Lord create Bear Bryant and couldn't he have rested on that day too?
1st and 10 Bama...
…..Clock winding down to 4 minutes. They’ll deal it to Grant, tripped up after a yard, Bynes.
Boomer Sooner
TX Tech wins!
Ever wonder why God painted a beautiful sky blue and a breathtaking sunset orange?
3rd and 5
…..Bama, possession play, they are at the Auburn 35. Shotgun for Bama. McElroy with a great throw, to Marquis Maze, TD Bama.
Yep ...
that makes it the worse loss since 1962?? … ouchers
Ever wonder why God painted a beautiful sky blue and a breathtaking sunset orange?
2nd and 10
…..clock running. Shotgun, Burns will give inside to Lester, lost a yard. No blocking AT ALL.
Back in will come Durst.
…..He’s gotten a lot of practice, today. He’ll boom another, Arenas fair-catches.
Off goes the TV card...
….pour another shot. It’s great to be an Auburn Tiger. No matter WHAT!
…..Grades up, in a few hours. War Eagle, everybody, and let’s start looking forward to next year! Thanks for all those who hung in to the bitter end! True fans!
……It’s great to be, an Auburn Tiger!
Just can't...
…..keep handing them the ball. Had to make first downs. Didn’t. Made fumbles, drops, wore the defense out.
WAR EAGLE
another season in the books. I hope Tubs is back next year. He is our best chance to recover from this disaster.
Yes, Tuberville should...
……get a pass. He’s won 7 out of 10 Iron Bowls. He deserves the chance to turn this mess, around.
He'll be on a short leash, though,
…..I suspect, next year. I’ve seen beleaguered coaches fire most of their staff, lay one more stinker year on, then get fired. Let’s hope that doesn’t happen, next year.
I'm not sure...
…..Urban has it that easy. How many flags did Bama take? How many fumbles? How many picks? Blown coverages?
……I saw a team tonight, that doesn’t beat itself. Hats off to Bama, for the big win. They played good, disciplined ball, and won big. I think they give Florida a really good game. Gators better bring their best…
Florida will have its work cut out for them
Bama plays very disciplined power football. The kind that gives Fla fits. I want Florida to destroy Bama but they may be in for a surprise….unfortunately.
On what day did the Lord create Bear Bryant and couldn't he have rested on that day too?
Learn a lesson from Ala.
If we get rid of Tubby they better have an EXCELLENT no brainer replacement that is committed to coming to Auburn BEFORE they fire Tubby. Firing Tubby on emotion this weekend would be REALLY dumb.

First Post as a SB Nation Suscriber
I don’t think there’s a logical person out there to replace Tubs. Especially with all that buyout money to consider in the equation. Now if someone like Pete Caroll or Bob Stoops was available, then you might could get away with it. But Tubs has a great track record. He graduates STUDENT athletes. He runs a clean program. And he knows that this year was a bust because of his attempt at running the spread. Things should be better next year…..he’ll definately be on a short leash like Acid Reign said….but he has EARNED a mulligan
Tonight was hard
Appreciate Revwhitten’s comments. I believe in Auburn. War Eagle everybody!
