Friends, Romans, Countrymen......

or rather Fans, Students, Alumni,  lend me your ears......WE MUST UNITE!  The argument is over Gene Chizik is our Head Coach for better or worse.  We need to turn the page and let the argument die over who would have been a better choice.....we have almost unanimously  agreed that we would have rather had Gill but that will not happen no matter how we feel.

On the defense of the racism card that fairly or unfairly has been played.  Defend Auburn University because you defend yourself, and your institution.  But be careful you don't defend the wrong thing.  I have made several comments stating this stance but I felt maybe a fan post would be a better  forum.  I do not see the logic of defending the people we denounce as being Dictators or Overlords of our beloved University on charges of racism.  I don't know if they are guilty or innocent so I'm damned sure not going to defend them.  It is wasted energy and assenine to defend them because there is not one of us who can prove or disprove that they are guilty or innocent.  I understand the ire, I feel it too, of having accusations of racism come up at every instance possible.....especially by those who would paint us as backwoods hillbillys living on dirt roads with no dental hygene.  But think about it folks time would be better spent demonstrating that regardless of the motives of the Board of Trustees and their puppet Jay Jacobs, that racism does not apply to Auburn University because Auburn University is not a few power hungary boosters it is us the Auburn family.  Let the Powers that be defend themselves, and if they can't that is their problem and should be handled appropriately by not only us but the State of Alabama which our University is a part of.  What I am saying is this....it doesnt matter at this point whether you agree or disagree that racism was an issue with the hiring of Gene Chizik it is percieved and before you jump to defend those accused you need proof.  It's not like the people accused are people that we want to protect....to the contrary they are people we loathe.  If I had proof that they were innocent I would defend them vehemently and present that proof (and constantly call for their resignation).  But there is no such proof available to us.  The Board of Trustees and Jay Jacobs should have to answer for this......not Auburn University.....when you defend them you actually put the University more into the dendants chair because you are Auburn University.  Oppose the Board of Trustees and Jay Jacobs because of the misuse of power and money.......don't defend them with out proof one way or the other.

I am behind Chizik, but...

Jacobs still needs to go, as does Gogue (still not one word from the University prez? come on) and Pat Dye needs to be stripped of whatever bs title he holds. If they wanna work for lowder, get your ass to a colonial branch and apply to be a teller. These people are supposed to protect, safeguard, and make decisions to benefit the university, it’s students, faculty, and alumni. It is blatantly obvious they did none of the above. They, as always, just did whatever the hell they wanted and won’t have to face any consequences for it.

I will support Chizik, I will holler myself hoarse for the tigers this fall as always. The one thing I will not do is roll over and keep my mouth shut about these jackasses doing whatever the hell they want with my alma mater.
