Willis Retained

In my opinion Chizik made a great  decision retaining Wilis. Willis was heading up the recruiting of Raymond Cotton after Tubberville was fired. Raymond Cotton sr indicated Willis being fire was one of the reasons his son decomitted. I like the decision to keep Wllis on board. Willis has been a Auburn player and has a love for the university. With some luck Willis will be able to get Cotton back on board with us.

Sweet!!!!!

A very good move for our recruits, line backers and effort to bring the family back together.

Personally....

I don’t care about Cotton. I hope they tell him sorry, but your scholarship has been withdrawn. Auburn needs people that WANT to be at Auburn. Just my opinion.

I agree

I’m over Cotton as well.

I agree with you and Arie for this

Auburn is in desperate need of some heart and if losing the guy that was recruiting sways you then you aren’t what we need. I would much rather see us get this kid out of Leroy since he apparently really wants to come play for Auburn, and he seems to be a winner.

while i agree Auburn needs people who want to be at Auburn, what they need even more is someone to play QB…which sadly they are lacking.

how can someone be over a kid in highschool who has never played a game of college football? haters wanna hate.

Auburn needs a QB now...

Cotton is not that person. He was dead last by a mile in the Elite 11 camp, and was labeled as a “raw” talent. Translation: Strong arm, not smart.

More to the point...

…..Cotton was a “spread recruit.” Can Cotton run a “200-year-old offense?”

…..Willis was a great hire with respect to holding the recruiting class together. I’m still not sold on his technical prowess. We’ll see, though. After all, we could have had Wayne Bolt. He coached linebackers at Iowa State, as well as coordinating the defense. I’d take Willis over Bolt, easily!

I don't think it's about hating

I think it’s about moving on and spending valuable time and energy on recruits that can be retained.

What do you know...

Christmas was carried over an extra day for Auburn fans,…:-).

Excellent news!

And to sweeten it even more,…Chette Williams is being retained, too. Likewise, excellent news!

Apparently somebody got hold of Chizik and told him he should really think long and hard about letting those two simply walk out the door.

War Damn Eagle Chizik!

That is certainly good news....

I wish someone had the foresight to get it done a little sooner rather than letting several recruits decommit as a result of his “firing”. Maybe we can get some back.

I would have gone to bammer if my grades hadn't been good enough to go to AU
