The Tommy Tuberville appreciation thread

Regardless of whether you were in the "Fire Tubs" or "Keep Tubs" camp, or on the fence (like me), you have to admit it's a sad day for Auburn University when we fire Tommy Tuberville. His career ends at Auburn with an 85-40 (52-30 SEC) record, 1 SEC Championship, a 5-3 bowl record, and a 7-3 record against Alabama. This thread is not about speculation on his replacement or the future of Auburn's football program, but more of a thread of gratefulness to a great man who represented this university admirably for ten years. Tommy, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the job you've done at Auburn, and I wish you the best of luck in the future.

War Eagle.

Tubbs

brought the best to Auburn. He helped the fan base believe that we could be relevant in the BCS. He brought 6 excellent wins over our in state rival. He did this while running a clean program with a high graduation rate. This is a sad day for Auburn. I do not believe that he deserved to go out like this.

Tubs

Thank you for all the leadership that you brought to Auburn. The great wins over great teams. The undefeated season. The record over our top rivals. The record against the top ten and top five. The stability that you brought to the program. The 50 in 5. The recruits that you made men. The legacy that you left us here at Auburn.

Thank You Coach. You’ll be missed for sure.

A sad day!!!

Yes, a sad day . Tubbs did a great job over the past 10 years. I am left with many great memories in great games….beating many top teams. Make the next move really worth it AU decision makers!!! It better be good. Good bye Tubby, I hope you do well in the future. I’m glad I was able to see you coach the tigers one last time in Tuscaloosa. You made our program a great one…your autographed ball will always be in my Auburn football shrine.

Tubs has been an incredible coach for the past 10 years. Hate to see him go out like this. Props to him for being such an upstanding man in all aspects of life (non football related and football related) unlike a certain other coach in the state. His players were never thugs and were always well behaved. I have so much respect for this man and I hate to see him go. Thanks Tubs.

Coach Tuberville,

Thank you for everything you’ve done for Auburn over the years. By and large, you’ve represented Auburn with integrity and brought many great memories to Auburn people. I believe during your 10 years at Auburn, you’ve come to understand and embrace the Auburn Spirit and have developed a deep love for Auburn.

You are now and always will be an “Auburn Man”.

We wish you and yours the very best going forward.

Good Luck Tubbs!!

Tubbs I am really sad to see you leaving the university, you did a lot for Auburn and I appreciate and thank you for it. You have given us some of the most memorable and exciting wins in the schools history and are one of the greatest “Big Game” coaches in sports, not just college football. I wish things had turned out differently, you definitely deserved a better fate. What I hate most of all is that you did not have a chance for 85,000 people to rise to their feet and show you how much they love and respect you. You deserved that and it would have been one last special moment for all of us. Unfortunately your firing was a fitting epilogue to this dismal season, it was very dissapointing and should have turned out differently.

God Speed Tubs, and I wish you good health and continued succes in all your future endeavors, you deserve it.

On what day did the Lord create Bear Bryant and couldn't he have rested on that day too?

God Loves Auburn

How do I know this. Because on a murky winter day in 1998 he brought Thomas Hawley Tuberville to the Loveliest Village on the Plains. He returned integrity, discipline, and moral character back to our program. He turned boys into Auburn Men and created something that all Auburn fans should be proud of. I want to tell him thank you from the bottom of my heart and I wish the best for him and his family. I will always consider him an Auburn Man, because he earned it.

War Eagle Coach, we love you.

Excellent post.

I second your sentiments completely, AUBizMan. Very well put.

Auburn will find another coach,…but it will be hard pressed to find another man with the integrity and character of Tuberville.

Thank you Coach Tuberville

Thank you for the many great memories of wins against top teams as well as our greatest rival.

Thank you for being a great Ambassodor for Auburn.

Most of all thankyou for running a clean program that has shaped the character of hundreds of young men.

Good luck and may God truly bless you and your family.

Appreciation from the other Tigers

Just a note of appreciation to Coach Tuberville from an opponent, LSU. I didn’t always like Tuberville, but I always recognized a superior coach. AU will not find a better coach than he.

The only thing I’ve seen more dysfunctional than our Louisiana politics is the atletic department politics at Auburn; whenever someone rises above the norm, the others drag them down.

Well, good luck with the search. I always pull for Auburn except when you play us.

Thanks for the classy post, Ellis.

Yeah, our politics are pretty dysfunctional, to say the least.

Thanks again.

yeah they are....

And i for one would like to see someone else voted into our political positions of power. The punks that are running the show right now can all go to hell!
