Auburn Cannot Pull It Off???

I was just riding back in my car listening to Paul Finebaum, when an Alabama fan called in and questioned Auburn's new offense. The caller asked Paul if he believed that Auburn had the personnel to pull off the spread. Paul replied with a definitive "No". The caller also agreed. Now, let me say this Bammers. Keep thinking that. The Auburn Nation wants you to go ahead and think that. Hell, I'll just agree with that assessment. But, know this-a rude awakening awaits the Saban Nation. Auburn has the quality players to make this work. Even if it doesn't work to the degree that Franklin wants it to, Auburn's defense is MORE than capable of picking up the slack. I'll even goes as far to say that if Auburn's Offense scores at least 21 points a game, that will be enough to win them all. So, keep thinking that we don't have the personnel. I'll play along, but like I said before-if this works like I think it will.......there may be a few new trophies to add to the collection.

Not this year

The Burns/Todd tandem while having eh best of both worlds are exactly that. Different worlds. Occasionally they might pull of the big surprise where Burns passes or Todd runs, But only an idiot wouldnt defense against their strengths. Plus the offense is complex, and the OC is NEW, the DC is new and there are just to many things against it.
there is a ton of talent at tailback, but not everyone of them are strong recievers. Auburn still hasnt established a deep threat reciever either. So the spread may may go from side to side. but it doesnt have the real threat of stretching the secondary deep.
I may be wrong. And nothing is definative. Auburn does have at least a solid one in three chance of winning the west, but alot of questions will have to be answered. The real test will be when Croom comes to town. That is when everyone can start to se if the “spread” can face a decent defense. But as for me I see pretty much the same offenseive personal less on QB trying to execute an offense that is difficult , when last year they couldnt execute an offense that was really simple.

tmc1,
Auburn’s west coast offense last year was extremely complex. The spread is very simple. If you are arguing that point, than please tell me why numerous high schools are using the spread also.
And it isn’t like Kodi doesn’t have arms and Todd doesnt have feet. Kodi is much improved in the passing game. What I’m getting at is that Kodi will be a sufficient passer, so it won’t be telegraphed whether or not it is a run or pass play.

Auburn has

plenty of talent and will do just fine this year. Let the bammers keep thinking the way they do. The west coast offense wasn’t that simple. It was quite complex at times. That is one reason why Kodi Burns had so much trouble picking it up.

Franklin is confident...

Listening to Franklin talk a couple of weeks ago, he seemed very confident in Auburn’s talent level. Let’s see, listen to a 5’8 140 pound writer or Auburn’s offensive coordinator? Tough call.

TMC=Bammer

I thin TMC is a Bammer. The personnel we have is MORE than capable. Did I detect TMC say something bout us being down a QB? I like Brandon, but he could manage a clock and thats it. Now, in Franklin’s system, it will be on the coaches and the “NO HUDDLE” to manage the clock.

Am I totally wrong or don’t we have a schedule that benefits us?

TMC1 is a bammer

Yeah he blogs on other sites and has never shyed away from the fact that he is a bammer. Although he doesn’t talk as much trash on al.com’s auburn site. Here though he seems to have a looser tongue. Boosting that Auburn is on its way out. what was it…., 3 years he gives us to be everyone’s whipping post. “Goddest Nicki has arrived, and Bama is back”. we’ll see TMC1. But i suppose if it doesn’t happen quite that way then he won’t remember this conversation. Typical bama fan.

It won't take much to improve from last year.

Hey guys, first post here. You know, when Bama people talk, you don’t see much of their information backed by statistics, it’s all personal opinion and random banter. Nothing they say ever has a basis. I started blogging over on AthleticsNation, a baseball blog and the first SBnation site. Pretty much every conversation is backed by a lot of factual statistically based data. When it comes to analyzing player performance it comes from quantitative data, and is not so much based on “heart,” “grit,” leadership, etc.

Looking at Cox’s and the offenses’ pitiful performance last year, it won’t take much for Auburn to top the 2007 Auburn offense output. Compared with the rest of the SEC Auburn was:
9/12 in Scoring Offense
9/12 in Pass Offense
9/12 in Pass Efficiency
10/12 in Total Offense

If we can finish 2nd in the division with that bad of an offensive, I think the future looks pretty bright. No one on that offense will be difficult to replace, especially the QB. Also, all the young guys on the Oline have been battle tested, won in a bowl game and have played in the toughest away game situations you can possibly be in. The RB’s also have had another year to develop. I’m really excited to see the offense this year, and think this team can win a lot of games. If Bammers or SEC folks aren’t impressed, so be it. They will be after they play us.

What about Barry?
"Barry who?" Forst said, and I felt like I was in the middle of a knock-knock joke.
