Post LSU Musings

First off, I need to apologize to the LSU faithful for picking them to have an off year. LSU won the game in the trenches. They have depth on the lines that is hardly matched in the SEC. It seems that they are still capable of winning the West-contrary to what I believed early on.

Second, War Eagle! The offense showed some signs of life that I am excited about.

Okay here goes......

Auburn fans should not be calling for Franklin's head. The only really bad call I saw was the roll out PASS on 4th down. If I have Ben Tate, I run it straight at them.

Kodi Burns would not have been wise to play in this game. There was never an opportunity in this war, where I could see him coming in and not totally throwing off the flow of the game for the offense.

LSU is still a pretty good football team, and I am starting to see the genius in Dr. Evil's game plans.

Durst screwed one punt and we never saw him again. Shoemaker comes in and screws the pooch. What was this all about?

The defense does have holes, and they are right where we all knew they were! SECONDARY

Anyways, I am hungover and tired, but despite my disappointment, I still believe this is going to be a good year. If we can get past Tennessee, I think the schedule favors us until Georgia. So, all of you fairweather fans go ahead and start calling for more premature firings! But know this-- at the end of the day, we just got beat by a better football team! Plain and simple.......

War Eagle!

POST LSU MUSINGS

I BELIEVE THAT COACHING LOST THIS GAME AND I DO NOT MEAN FRANKLIN. LSU HAS
D BEEN MOVING THE BALL, OUR DEFENSE IS TIRED WE GET THE BALL ON OUR 38 WITH 6PLUS MINUTES ON THE CLOCK AND WE GO INTO THE TUBERVILLE PROTECT THE ONE POINT LEAD MODE. A STRAIGHT AHEAD RUN FOR NO GAIN, A SHORT INCOMPLETE PASS, AND A STRAIGHT AHEAD RUN FOR NO GAIN. I WAS SITTING THERE CALLING THE PLAYS BEFORE WE RAN THEM. AND BY THE WAY THE KICKING GAME HAD NOT BEEN WORKING ALL NIGHT. OUR OFFENSE HAD BEEN MOVING THE BALL THROWING. OPEN UP AND PLAY THE GAME ALL THE WHILE DRAINING THE CLOCK. THIS GAME IS ON TUBBS. THE LAST PUNT WAS NOT NEEDED IF WE MOVE THE BALL AND WE CAN’T DO THAT THE WAY WE ATTEMPTED.

agree totally........

two first downs and the games is in the bag, we definitely need to make other teams earn the yardage by kicking it deep …especially since they dropped the first two kicks…man if we could improve on special teams…

The rollout pass on 4th down was brilliant

Trott was wide open, but an LSU D-lineman was in the backfield to disrupt the timing. Todd had to escape him before throwing the ball, and by that time the safety recovered and ran across the field to intercept.

I wish I could blame this loss on someone or either the offensive or defensive unit. I just can’t. We played our best game of the season by far, the only complaints I have are a few play calls that didn’t work out. That, and we did not run the ball well at all.

PUNTING!!!!

i am so disappointed in our punting game. what the hell is wrong with these people all they do is kick the ball its not complicated. thats all they practice.

I once asked the question why are there so many Alabama fans that never graduated from the university? I was told its because their parents were fans and it was passed down.........(my response after a pause).....similar to racism.....?
