Tubberville's New Job...
According to recent commercials that are being run on ESPN, Tubberville will be providing live, on air coverage of signing day and help by providing his insight on the potential of the recruits as well as the overall impact that he feels the player will have on that team.
I'm glad to see him getting some consulting work like this and I would love to see him become an on-air personality. War Damn Eagle!

I wonder
If thats the closest he has ever gotten to the top 100 recrutes in america?

I was gonna make a similar crack
… something about wondering what makes him qualified to talk about recruiting …

I would say that his track record of finding quality players.....
regardless of the number of stars that a recruiting service may or may not have assigned them makes him qualified. Funny how everyone likes to pile on the easy target.
I would have gone to bammer if my grades hadn't been good enough to go to AU

if you are going to dog someone......
Please learn how to spell recruits. It is interesting that you can take cheap shots at one of our most winning coaches and you spell recruits “recrutes.” Pretty bold.

OH COME ON......
OK, I give you he hasn’t gotten close to them, but who else has such a great winning % and more wins over top ranked teams in the past 10 years with so called non top 100 players?

Oh Boy, I can't wait!!
Thats all we need is for Tubbs to get on National TV where he is going to get grilled about what went down when he left. I’m sure the ESPN folks will be real objective and refrain from dragging us through the mud as much as possible. I can just here them sharpening the knives to butcher us with. Hopefully Tubs will take the high road but I’m not overly confident. If you think Tubby wouldn’t do that, well consider he could have saved the university a LOT of grief by going to the press conference and backing them up….I mean he is leaving with $6million BTW…that should buy a lot of co-operation. I hope Tubby will exhibit the same class he has shown on the field the last 5 years and not do a James Willis on us.
On what day did the Lord create Bear Bryant and couldn't he have rested on that day too?

You're throwing stones at the wrong guy....
Tuberville showed what 5.1 million can buy you by allowing Jacobs to say he resigned rather than got fired and by not telling the whole story. If I were Tubs you wouldn’t have seen me “lying” for the jackasses that pushed me out either.

Tubs' is getting paid his buyout...
In return for his silence. That’s the way these things work. Ultimately it’s his decision to talk or not, but 5.1 mil solves a lot of problems.
He didn’t sell anyone out during the high school all-star game he appeared on, and he won’t on signing day either.

I know....
You are correct about Jacobs et al. I just know ESPN’s motives and they know Tommy loves to speak his mind.

We don't know the stipulations of Tubs buyout...
it could be Bowdenesque in nature and Tubs could be prohibited from speaking out about it….and I happen to believe that Tubs has more class than that anyway.

Ok but all signs point
To “shut up money”. Maybe im wrong cause i haven’t followed it that closely but I haven’t seen or heard Tubbs talk at all about what happened. I mean any statement at all would be understandable and expected but to have heard nothing tells a lot.

I don't disagree...
but Tuberville has shown in the past his propensity for taking the high road and not dragging an issue through the mud…..see the Tony Franklin firing as an example.

Tommy
Never says anything controversial even when the fans are begging for it. I can’t tell you how many pre game press conferences I have read of his and they always sounded the same. Like he cut and pasted that weeks team and players into his format. Maybe in 2 years when the Jay Jacobs experiment winds down, Tubbs might be looking for an AD gig which would suit his style well, I think.

I wish him well....
And I hope my well-wishing doesn’t turn right around and bite me in the ass.
