Gators Win 2nd BCS Crown in 3 Years
Even in a supposed down year, the SEC shows the rest of the nation how it's done, with Florida winning it's second title in three years. You got to hand it to the Gator defense, who really clamped down on the Sooner's high-powered offense and held them to 40 points under their average. Go Gators!!

They're
…so slanted to NFL coverage that it just fails to translate. When you see Jimmy Johnson and Barry Switzer up there, you just automatically think ‘NFL’…

Ditto. Not to mention...
There seemed to be some kind of horrible reverb noise / echo coming through periodically on the sound for the game. Thought it was just my TV so I checked out a couple other TV’s in the house,…same effect. Cable appeared to be working fine on other channels, too. No drinking going on either, so I ruled out that cause,…..:-)
By the way,…Switzer appeared to have a definite pout going on after the game over the Sooners losing to the Gators…
Good win for the SEC, but...
I hate the gators as much as I hate bammer. It’s because of the fans. I live in central Florida, so I have to endure these fair-weather fans year-round. Much like 2006, gator hat sales will go up, I’ll see more gator car magnets, more shirts, ect.
I once asked a “gator fan” who they thought the best coach in college football was, they said, “Irvin Meyers”. I nodded my head and said, “riiiiiight”.
War Damn Eagle!!! That’s Right!!!
Utah and USC should play for the national title
I wasn’t impressed with either team last night.
The artist formerly known as...
Mr Redbird @ Viva El Birdos
PowerOfDixieland @ Track Em Tigers, other SEC blogs
that game didn't settle anything
Utah can be the people’s champion…
but seriously Pete Carrol and Urban Meyer need to put both of their teams on a plane, fly them to the wintery hell of Greenbay and have a true neutral field showdown on the frozen tundra. Win 4 Ever vs. SEC Speed and settle this ridiculousness once and for all.
also...
can we get an Ohio State vs. Oklahoma randomass bowl matchup next season. it’s the sort of thing that would amuse me greatly to watch two teams lay a giant egg at once.
Poetry
Simply poetry. How many times are these two teams going to get oppertunities to dissapoint?

At least fox doesn’t get the game next year. ABC has all rights to the Rose Bowl.
1990 National Champions- Colorado Buffalo's
1913,1957,1983,1993,2004 National Champs- Auburn Tigers
And with them...
…the resources of ESPN.

at least ESPN can put on a good football game
but having to listen to Herbiebot in the title game may be too much for my brain to handle.
do they?
i thought the BCS title game wasn’t considered the Rose Bowl so Fox would have it. i may be entirely wrong about that.
No sure...
The Rose Bowl game is played seperatly then the NC game later. Just like the Orange Bowl this year.
War Eagle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The BCS NC game...
…alternates every year from being in the same venue as one of the big 4 bowl games. This year, it was in Miami, in the same venue that is the Orange Bowl, but the game gets it’s own title. Three years ago when Texas and USC played, although the game was held in the Rose Bowl, it wasn’t the ‘Rose Bowl’. The Rose Bowl had been held a few days before.

Here it is....
BCS News Release On “Future Structure”
The 2005 regular season marked the eighth and final year of ABC Sport’s exclusive rights to telecast the four BCS bowls. Beginning with the post-season following the 2006 campaign, FOX Sports took over the telecasts of the FedEx Orange, Nokia Sugar and Tostitos Fiesta Bowls. Fox also has the rights to telecast the National Championship games through January 2009.
ABC will continue to telecast the Rose Bowl through January 2014. It will also telecast the National Championship game when it is played in Pasadena in January 2010. The BCS began using a “double hosting” format with the games played after the 2006 regular season. Under this model there are five (5) BCS games annually, including the National Championship game. The four BCS bowl games (Orange, Fiesta, Sugar, Rose) will be held annually, in addition to a National Championship game that will rotate among those four bowl sites each year. Once every four years, one of the aforementioned bowls will host two BCS games: its traditional bowl game and the National Championship game.
War Eagle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
annoying sportscasters
Nothing against Tebow, but do we really have to hear how much of a saint he is over and over? Good for him, but isn’t the broadcast about the game? I do not want the life stories of players and who their roommates and friends are, etc, etc.
