turned around
war eagle hey!
you know for years with tommy tubberville aburns offence was always ranked very low in the country and there defence was always ranked very high but this year unger chizik is a complete turn around. aburns offence is ranked very high and the defence is ranked very low. now i know that tubbs left us pretty high and dry in the depth department but the performance so far this year is awful and to be honest with you i dont know is ted roof is the right guy for the job. remeber he come from the big ten and he is not use to the skill level of the sec. i do know this if chizik dont get this fixed this year or even the next the high powered offence wont do us any good cause in the sec you cant win championships without a good defemce

Hehe...
ok I’m gonna say this before someone else sees it.
First off, not that its THAT important but you need to revise your posts before hitting that post button. Your “speeling” is pretty awful. Rereading your post could really help with that. You even mispelled Auburn…. come on man.
Secondly, Its not a joke or an excuse when people talk about our depth being a problem. And its not just gametime when it affects us. Its during practice when the guys are working on tackling. Not being able to go through a “good” player during practice for fear of injury to a 1st teamer is BIG. I’m sure you’ve heard the saying, “You play as hard as you practice”, Its true. Its very limiting in the things that Ted Roof can do as a coordinator. I’m sure its driving him crazy. He has always been known as an aggressive-blitzing-defensive minded guy. He can’t do that all the time because of the lack of LB’s on the team. Good LB’s. Not only that but the inexperiance at safety doesn’t help. Injuries in the off-season have hurt us there too. Then you throw in the lack of depth on the D-line(their all hurting and some are just now coming back), and you’ll have some defensive problems. I heard it somewhere that we’ve lost around 17 guys for various reasons(Graduated, medical, failed out, kicked out, ran away, or left for the pros) in the past year and a half. Thats huge!
So try and give Roof a REAL opportunity to do his thing before you go swinging on the man’s balls too hard. Its his 1st year on the team. He inherited some problems to say the least. If its still awful 3 years from now then you just might be on to something.
Im not going to say our defense is bad… I honestly think we have a good up and coming defense. Now if we get burned again by short crossing routes all day long I might change my mind. W. VA ran em all day long against us, Tenn. tried but couldn’t get it to them, and Arkansas… well you all know what happened.
This isn't really...
…..a new problem. Our defensive play has been declining for at least two and a half years, as the numbers withered. We went from 13.9 points per game in 2006, to about 17 in 2007, to 18 last year. Now that we’re down to basically one big time lineman, and two ok linebackers, yeah. We’re ballooning on points given up, this year. But the trend has been there even since the Muschamp era. You have to have players, to play defense.
I agree...
As the depth has dwindled so has the production. However, i feel that last year was due to the offense being so terrible that it forced our defense into not only situations that were bad for them, but also to stay on the field so much that even with more depth they would have broken down evenually. Its a trend that you could see coming a mile away. I’m sure that Tub’s saw it too. Does that mean that it left because he knew it was just gonna get tougher, Not necessarily, but i’m sure it didn’t help either.
Aw weak

Yeah...
he’s a Homer no doubt. But, he’s right. The starting 11 should be capable of making some stops before wearing down. They didn’t do a good job at all last week.
Screw you guys
This week against KENTUCKY IT WAS THE OFFENSE that couldn’t get it done. Chris Todd is simply AWFUL again. Damn-I wish you would stop bashing the defense and accept that offense has been terrible two games in a row. DAMN.

Oh well...
I will be wearing my orange all week in spite of this loss. We need to recruit, and we need to recruit NOW!!
Blame
The reality is we have plenty of blame to go around. Bottom line, it all starts at the top. When you go 3 and out, you put a thin defence at risk. When we line up wrong or jump offsides or hold (you get the idea) things snowball. This team needs a leader.
We are not mentally tuff and when our studs (Tate, Todd and Fannin) drop the ball things fall apart in a hurry. Anyway, I will say this; when our D line is gassed – subs are in order.
