(Kentucky at Auburn, open thread!)
War Eagle, everybody! The rains have lifted, and now there's a nip in the air! It was mighty crisp this morning, going out to get the newspaper. It FINALLY feels like fall here in the South! We are ready for some more Auburn football!
Tonight, Auburn hosts the Kentucky Wildcats. Gene Chizik has a chance to post an Auburn first. No first-year Auburn coach has ever beaten Kentucky. Jack Meagher is the only coach to ever have the opportunity, and his Tigers lost in Lexington in 1934. Auburn has not lost to the Wildcats since 1966.
We'll be here all day, watching football. As always, feel free to chime in with any observations! War Eagle, and let's kick Kentucky!

I've had SOMETHING,
…..all week. Headaches, sore throat, sinus, that sort of thing. Didn’t burn my last personal day at work, though. Made it through! And got some OT! Don’t think it’s swine, just some virus. That’s what the pediatrician told us about my son, and his symptoms are similar.
Hope you feel better soon.
Swine has been running rampant through our valley. Several schools have had to close. I got my vaccine yesterday, so I think I will live in a bubble for the next 2 weeks until it become effective. :)

We are very excited! We are expecting a boy….he gets very active during Auburn games, which makes me very excited!!! It will be me that teaches him about football. So, I have already started a collection of my favorite Auburn stories. My husband dropped off food earlier and then disappeared so that I could enjoy the game…He grew up around Ole Miss and will watch football on TV, but it is harder for him to sit and listen to it through the internet.

So, we knew going in that they have a good offensive line. According to Col., they have a decent defense. But, I don’t think that these are good excuses. We should be able to easily win this game; we just are not playing like it.

My observations of what i saw in the 4th quarter:
Florida did look average again. Arky blew chances on about 17 points, so it really should not have been that close and the Razorbacks would have had another win.

…..Florida looked VERY beatable, at least in the 4th quarter. I saw a bit, right after I got home from work. Ryan Mallett cost ‘em the game, with inaccurate throws. He’s got a gun, but he’s maybe one of three, on accuracy. He gets up to 60 percent, on screens, and dives by the receivers.

…..an SEC Broyles award thus far, to the best assistant, it’s Paul Petrino, for the Arkansas receivers. He took an average bunch, and those guys are getting it done.

I watched it
I was thinking a bit of both. Brandon Spikes was out for Florida so their defense was off one of their best players. Arky looked real good also considering their lead rusher who hung 145 yards on us was not playing. But Florida number one? Please. They keep playing like that and they won’t be number one at the end of the year

It aint good BUT this wan’t on him.. Our offense or lack thereof , totally undermined any effort the D gave. If I had known that our offense would be this pathetic I would have told you we give up 40 to Kentucky, even with their starter being out.
Gus sucked, on the play calling. Chirs was absoluely awful….again and Gene did nothing about it….and the band played on. Roof didn’t save us but he wasn’t the reason we lost. Poor tackling sure, but thats on Gene, he should be practicing full speed. Injuries be damned.

And I can remember the Barfield days when our weekly battle cry was, “War Eagle Anyway!” Seriously, we can’t stop a mild wind, much less a lower tier SEC opponent. The big boys are going to crush us – which is a bad thing because that’s all we have left on our schedule.
It’s time for all the explanations and rationalizations to stop because at this point they are no longer “rookies”. These guys have been in the trenches for half of a season and still can’t get in place, fight off a block, pursue at the correct angle or wrap up a runner.
Is it just me or does anybody else think that they should start shouting “Ole!” when they miss a tackle? Because to me they look like a bunch of matadors as the opposing teams go running by.
And don’t get me started on the offense…
