War Eagle, everybody! There'll be a bad moon rising, tonight, over Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, Tennessee! The Tigers invade Rocky Top, and won't be taking any prisoners. It's time to get fired up, knock one back, and let out a big yell!
We'll be here all day, watching SEC football. As always, feel free to chime in and share your observations! War Eagle! Beat the Vols!

No offense, but I think that Vandy would look stout against Kentucky. At the same time, I don’t get the game, so what do I know.

I will not deny the fact that Alabama is a talented football team. However, Va Tech is extremely overrated,, kinda like LSU. I wouldn’t pick them to win the National Championship though. This years Iron Bowl should be great.
Yeah and Va. Tech looked great against Duke...
But honestly, college football is so volatile you can look awful one week and look like a champion the next. There’s too much talent spread through college football now.

I just woke up,
…..and checked the Bama score. 38-20 doesn’t look all that impressive. Watching the little ESPN highlight video, Kentucky looks like they’ve got tackling problems, too. That 32-yard Ingram run was ridiculous! I think 11 players had a shot at him, and no one wrapped up! Kentucky was in the game, till they lost that dump pass late in the half, and it was returned for a TD. Then Hartline throws a pick right off the bat, in the 2nd half. Game over.

…..doesn’t seem too worried about piddling away a pair of scoring chances late in the half against Georgia. I’d be nervous, if I was an LSU fan. A 6-0 halftime LSU lead is anyone’s ball game. It could be as bad as 20-0, if LSU had executed in the clutch. What HAPPENED, to their line and running game? Charles Scott came into this year as one of the scariest backs in the SEC, but he can’t take a handoff this year, without getting popped in the backfield…

They both looked pretty bad. Depending on how we do tonight, I think this could be a great momentum builder for us.

In other words,
…..the line needs to KEEP holding the D off long enough for Chris Todd to make it through all of his ball-fakes, and run the play. In the first four games, he’s had time to point that ball in all directions, then drop, look, and gun it. Look for Tennessee to try and get pressure up the middle, and try to mess up Auburn’s timing.

…..266 yards at half, no turnovers, and we’ve been TESTED by this D. I’m enthused! A few tweaks, and I think we’ll be fine in the 2nd half. Crompton is 4-16 on the day.
hugely interesting chess match...
…..when Auburn has the ball. So far, Gustavus has had the edge. There’s another such match on the other side of the ball, and as far as I’m concerned, Kiffin has won against Roof. Luckily, there have been enough bad throws and even another missed handoff/snap, to hold the Vol offense down. Not to mention dropped balls… Bottom line, this is a pretty even game. The team that eliminates the mistakes in the 2nd half, will win.

when you are on the road, you close when given the opportunity. We have given Tenn. life when they were totally out of it. But hey, that keeps it interesting. Now that iit is, we can make it a very uninteresting blow out.

he is playing a little like a freshman. He hasn’t made a vital mistake yet, but he has been close to fubling or causing a fumble in the backfield. I don’t want to see him taking carries from Tate unless the game is in hand.

….Tate fresh, though. And don’t think those sideline McCalebb sweeps don’t play a part, too. Making a 300 pound tackle chase that thing a few times DOES have an effect, as we saw down the stretch in the 2nd quarter!
We get the ball...
At the beginning of the third quarter, I wouldn’t be surprised with a three and out in the beginning. The crowd will be loud and the players will be pumped. However, if keep it together, we’ve got a great shot going into the fourth quarter. They’re giving out, you can see it in their movements. We had the ball almost twice as long as Tennessee did, and they don’t have great depth either.

…..we’ll check the scoreboard, and… as expected, Ole Miss is handling Vandy in ho-hum fashion, 23-7, late in the 3rd period. South Carolina is ahead of South Carolina State in the 4th, 31-7. Arkansas has pulled away from Texas A&M in College Station, 30-10 early in the 3rd. And, Georgia Tech leads Mississippi State

……to all of the folks who commented on this thread! This was an amazing experience, reading all of the feedback! My only complaint on this game was that somehow, the Auburn radio guys were about 45 seconds behind the play. No help at all, there. Don’t know what happened, but they were actually distracting, in the early going. Had to turn the radio off, and listen to the ESPN guys.
