so Auburn basketball just landed a commitment from one Shawn Kemp, Jr. today.

yes the son of THAT Shawn Kemp. the dunkingest most awesome Seatle Supersonic of all time (other than Detlf Schrempf, of course). Kemp was a Bama commit last year but apparently had to go to the School For Kids Who Can't Read So Good aka Hargrave and now he's gonna be a Tiger.

this is probably the 1st and last time anyone ever posts on this site about basketball recruiting. i'm just gonna go ahead and put that out there.

Just to keep you updated if you aren't paying attention...

Auburn had to come from behind to beat Niagara tonight. As I said last year, this will be a rough season. We owe it to Lebo to let him work things through after this year. It’s going to be pretty bad, trust me on that one. However, you’ve just got to give it time. We need to let Lebo have his opportunity. I realize I wanted us to get away from his direction but the Auburn Family still has Lebo as its basketball head coach. We lost a lot of seniors last year. The only two good returners of note are Waller and Reed. That’s not very much to keep us in games against some stronger opponents. In addition, the SEC is also a tough basketball conference. This will be a long year and not one for the faint of heart. Please, just be patient.

Change “Auburn” to “Penn State”, “Niagara” to “Davidson”, “Lebo” to “DeChellis”, “Waller and Reed” to “Battle and Jones” and the “SEC” to “The Big Ten” and you’re a Penn State fan.

Funny how this stuff works.
