Get in your predictions for the Iron Bowl
Well, folks, it's here. It's Iron Bowl week. It's 11-0 Alabama against 7-4 Auburn. It's national title contenders against up-and-coming, better bowl position contenders. Ask nearly anyone, and they'd say Auburn has about 0% chance of winning this game. Personally, I think this sums it up pretty nicely:
As for the last score predictions thread, I don't think anyone here predicted us to lose to Georgia. I still can't believe we blew that game! Anyways, that's in the past now, and we need to focus on this week. So, Track 'em readers, what says ye? Honestly, even if you're the biggest homer ever, if you seriously think we're going to win this game, you're mental. Obviously, we can win this game. Even the biggest Bammer homer ever would have to agree to that. But UAT just looks too strong and Auburn is just too thin to predict that. Here goes...
Alabama 31
Auburn 13

Lighting bolt strikes the Alabama team bus and they fail to show up to the stadium
Auburn wins by default
AUBURN is back!
Buses are grounded...
And, in a related story, this week marked the 5,000th performance of the Broadway musical "Cats." It also marked the 5,000th time a guy turned to his wife and said, "What the hell is this?"

426 - 6
After scoring on all of our possessions as well as ALL of Bammer’s possessions (pick-6’s, fumbles returned for TD’s safeties, etc…), the last play of the game consists of Ben Take taking pity on the poor souls from Tuscalooser and running backard to our own endzone to fumble intentionally so that some Bammer can fall on it. Such an upstanding guy, that Ben Tate.
You're so delusional...
Tiffin would never miss a PAT in that situation!

Auburn stuns the Crimson Turds in Jordan Hare. Gene Chizik later says that the upset was completed to commemorate the last time the Turds (the reporters and the state are shocked by his use of Turds to refer to the bammers since he has been so diplomatic in every facet since coming to the plains) came into Jordan Hare ranked #2 in the nation (1989). Pat Dye gives a rousing post game speech to thank Chizik, his staff and players for such a wonderful gift on the 20th anniversery Iron Bowl of that Tiger Victory. He also coughs incessently causing grown men all across the state to drink everytime he coughs.
I would have gone to bammer if my grades hadn't been good enough to go to AU

Wes Byrum kicks the game winning field goal with just three seconds left in the game…and no, we don’t pull a Les Miles because we actually have a timeout to take before the clock expires.
Hey, it could happen…

I've seen good TEAMS beat teams with great individuals.
I am glad to see some fire in your fans here...
…everywhere else, it seems the AU fans have conceded this game. I expect AU to come out fired up and make this more of a game than last year. With that said, BAMA is too strong on both LOS. Unless BAMA screws up a lot and AU plays their best game of the year, I see it as something like
BAMA 28
AU 10
Auburn and Tennessee fans are a lot like Slinkys...neither are worth much but you do get a sense of satisfaction from pushing them down a flight of stairs
This is how it's gonna go down.
The Chizniks are going to come out with guns blazing. No guts, no glory! On the very first play from scrimmage Chris Todd is going to drop back in the pocket. He has plenty of time and he spots Darvin Adams streaking down the sideline. Marquis Johnson has been caught completely flat-footed and is the very picture of futility as he watches Adams haul in the perfect strike from Todd in stride and race into the endzone. But what’s this? The play has been blown dead and there is a flag on the field. It seems Lee Ziemba jumped before the snap. Oh darn. Three plays later, Durst is punting to Javy from his own endzone.
It’s going to be that kind of day for you guys. Enjoy.

Auburn forces a fumble on the Bama kneel down and AU recovers we call a TO with 3 secs left and Byrum knocks it through like in his freshmen year against the Gators and comes away going crazy.
So the concensus among AU posters thus far is...
10-1 that Auburn wins.
Minus one due to the unlikelyhood of a grounded bus getting struck by lightning and killing all aboard (not to mention that in order for said lightning strike to kill all players, it would have to break the laws of electricity not once, but appoximately thrice, for the three busses carrying players:
So 9-1
Then minus a couple for the unlikelyhood of former players and coaches suiting up:
So 7-1
Then minus a few for the improbability of AU averaging anywhere from 10-15 TD’s per quarter:
5-1
Then minus one more for the fact that the events that transpired in the 1972 Iron Bowl will never and should never EVER happen again… to anyone…
4-1
Then plus one more for Gump’s reminder that we are, indeed, all winners.
5-1
Good showing; I love optimism…
Looking forward to the game fellas, won’t throw an exact prediction out there, only to say that I plan on betting some cheddar on Bama minus the points. I honestly hope it’s a good showing by both teams, so that the Iron Bowl will regain it’s level of prominence that it once held. Cheers!

I wouldn't count out the busses being struck my lightning just yet.
Remember, we are Auburn.
Borrowing from the Auburn Alumni Association website,
“in 1896, when a group of mischievous Auburn cadets, determined to show up the more well-known engineers from Georgia Tech, sneaked out of their dorms the night before the football game between Auburn and Tech and greased the railroad tracks. According to the story, the train carrying the Georgia Tech team slid through town and didn’t stop until it was halfway to the neighboring town of Loachapoka, Alabama, The Georgia Tech team was forced to walk the five miles back to Auburn and, not surprisingly, was weary at the end of their journey, likely contributing to their subsequent 45–0 loss.”

If we can get to those buses, you guys are toast (in the literal sense). :)
Good luck to your team (not really), and lets all hope for an injury free game, on the field, in the stands, and around the state.
