I'm so proud of our guys...
they fought so hard. A moral victory doesn’t count for much, but it still feels better than being in the stands last year wet and dejected. WDE
I've seen good TEAMS beat teams with great individuals.

You guys showed me how I am going to die...
Eli Gold’s going to say, “Bama wins it in a close one!” Three days later, they find my wife and me in our Bama jerseys holding hands on the couch, dead from a heart attack and stroke.
Now I have to face my Auburn-loving boss Monday who’s going to treat this as a HUGE moral victory (and rightfully so- you guys outperformed us, especially in the first quarter).

I don't feel like it was a moral victory
I don’t believe in moral victories. I’m very proud of the effort our team gave. It was probably the best game they played all season (maybe the Miss State game, but that’s comparing apples and oranges).
Did Alabama make any real mistakes today? Auburn made a few (big kickoff returns, turnovers) but I don’t remember any Tide brain farts like we had. If Bama had made one or two mistakes, the outcome may have been different.
One last thing. I love Gus Malzahn. I think he’s a great coach. But sometimes he outsmarts himself. For instance, the screen call on 3rd and 1 around midfield. Still, we scored three touchdowns on a defense that averaged giving up fewer than one per game. Nothing to be ashamed of today.
And, in a related story, this week marked the 5,000th performance of the Broadway musical "Cats." It also marked the 5,000th time a guy turned to his wife and said, "What the hell is this?"

We made several
Blown coverage on the long TD pass by our safety, being out of position on several key plays during your scoring drive leaving your guys open, Mcelroy holding on to the ball too long and staring down his first read the ENTIRE GAME (how many times Julio was wide open and not even looked at is staggering), and general malaise the first drive. We also weren’t prepared for the on-side kick. Once Smart was able to make adjustments, you guys didn’t do anything the rest of the game (after the first two scoring drives) save the aforementioned TD pass thanks to Mark Barron getting in front of your receiver, not behind like he was suppose to in that CB blitz situation. To say we played flawless and barely won is very innacurate.
That being said, my hat (not les miles) is off to the Auburn team. As much hate as I have for all things orange, ya’ll threw everything at us early and took advantage of our D when they were not prepared. I never would have thought it would have been this close. Good luck in ya’lls bowl game.

No taunting here...
Just a genuine show of admiration from this ‘Bama fan, to an Auburn team that played their guts out today. I’m glad for the win, but I’m also glad for one of the best Iron Bowls I’ve ever seen. Auburn punched us in the gut hard, and it took us 3 quarters to really recover from it.
I don’t believe in Moral Victories either, but Auburn played like champions today. Moral Victory or no, that’s something anyone can be proud of. Even this Bammer.

I'm not trash talking in the slightest, honestly.
But Auburn out played Bama, plain and simple. We gave them 2 turnovers AND excellent starting field position each time out and our defense was about as stout as any. No Heisman race was tied up for Ingram and we really only got burned by the McElroy/Jones connection on one drive (the last one). I’m always hesitant to discuss moral victories, but this game made me proud to be part of the Auburn family. This program is going places. I never believed I’d be saying that after a loss to Bama, but Auburn is moving up again and I can’t wait to see how high we go.

I am so proud of the way we played, it was a lot closer than anyone thought it would be..
having said that, Congratulations to Bama for the win and to Auburn for playing over our heads and for showing our competition that we will not be fading away as some thought. I am so excited about what I saw last night. We should have been creamed. We dont have any depth, inferior talent in most positions, and a new coaching staff, and yet we still brought it within a hair’s breath of defeating a #2 Bama team that is seasoned in all areas. If that is not something to take your hat off to I dont know what is. Auburn showed yesturday that we will not be intimidated by anyone. War Eagle and here’s to looking ahead to some Great Auburn Teams to come!

There was a pretty negligible amount...
…..of trolling this week, from either camp. I salute that! And kudos to both Jay and Todd for keeping a lid on the few who tried to disrupt things.
……I’m glad that we could give Bama a game, this year. And it’s great for the opposition to recognize it, too! I’m looking forward to watching the title game next week.
