Jousting with the Paladins!

How cool a mascot is that?
Auburn vs. Furman, homecoming open thread!

War Eagle, everybody! It's homecoming gameday in the Lovliest Village on the Plains! Today, Auburn hosts the Furman Paladins, of the Southern Conference. The game kicks off at 12:30 CDT, and is televised on pay per view. This game is also listed on the schedule on ESPN360.com, but I have a feeling it will be blacked out, in Alabama and South Carolina at the very least. Time will tell!

Today, the Tigers hope to put the game away early, and take a look at a lot of younger players. Making his first start at safety today is sophomore Demond Washington. Washington has been Auburn's nickel back of choice this season, but has never played so much as a single snap at safety. It will be an interesting day for that young man, and we'll all be cheering him on! This is not the first time Gene Chizik has moved a corner to safety. Junior Rosegreen was a starting corner when Chizik first took over the Auburn defense in 2002, and was immediately moved. It worked out well! Having the extra set of great hands in the secondary paid dividends, and Auburn's points per game given up went steadily downward with Chizik's plan.

As always, feel free to chime in, and get fired up for the Tigers vs. the Paladins!

For those not at the game

You can watch on ESPN360.com if your internet provider gets it

And, in a related story, this week marked the 5,000th performance of the Broadway musical "Cats." It also marked the 5,000th time a guy turned to his wife and said, "What the hell is this?"

Todd is like Jevin Snead....

…..he looks amazing against bad teams. He’s thrown a couple of lazzzzers today. Where was that against Kentucky and Arkansas?

by CapnVegetto on Nov 7, 2009 1:26 PM CST reply actions

You are right that TD pass was a total

rocket ! I am convinced he was hurt mid year and has recovered.

by AU04Natlchamps on Nov 7, 2009 1:28 PM CST up reply actions

I wonder if they've lightened his throwing load in practice?
