Auburn breaks into the top 25

War Eagle Everyone,

After a three game losing streak we broke into the USA Today top 25- I think anyone would be pleased if we knew we would be among the top 25 teams in the country heading into Amen corner- Who knows we could easily beat UGA and Bama and end up in the top 10- I know I AM TRUELY THE ETERNAL OPTIMIST. Bruce Feldman of ESPN has us projected in the Capital One Bowl vs. Iowa and Mark Schlabach projects us picking cotton vs. Oklahoma although I would like to play in the better bowl Oklahoma would be great matchup.

Beat Georgia, and we'll likely move around #20

Beat Alabama, we’ll be top 15 going into bowl season, with a great New Year’s Day bowl game to boot. Win that, we finish at 10-3 and may sneak into the top 10.

A bunch of ifs, I know, but if all that happened, Chiz better get some love for coach of the year.

And, in a related story, this week marked the 5,000th performance of the Broadway musical "Cats." It also marked the 5,000th time a guy turned to his wife and said, "What the hell is this?"

I agree with you....

win out and we are firmly inside the top 15 and most likely sneaking into the top 10 (and yes that’s a boatload of “ifs”). What we would gain most from it is the respect from the pollsters for next season and the glam factor for recruiting this year.

I would have gone to bammer if my grades hadn't been good enough to go to AU

Me personally

I’m totally focused on Georgia. As bad as the Iron Bowl was, and I hate losing so badly to somebody like that, the UGA game still leaves a worse taste in my mouth. Todd, I haven’t heard you say much about Dyer committing…so what do you think? I truly believe if we would have run Ben Tate at the end of the game we would’ve won that game. Instead, we tried a pass with Kodi Burns and that has never gone well throughout his career as much as it pains me to say that.
The two teams are incredibly similar and both have had similar fates lately. I remember the comparison with AU and UT, but I think the same thing with the Bulldogs might have more merit to it. I am excited about this game and it’s just a few days away. There’s still a good amount of time before the Iron Bowl happens. I think it will be a great game. We got the rest we were wanting. I know we’re still very thin, but this did help at least a little. If Onterio makes it back and 100%, we win.

Dyer....

is a fantastic commit and I’ll rejoice on signing day if he signs. Right now I am encouraged and optimistic that this will be a great recruiting class and I am looking forward to Seastrunk or Lattimore along with Trevon Reed announcing their commitment and again if that happens I will rejoice on signing day when the fax comes in to Chizik. I want a win in Athens almost as badly as I want a win in the Iron Bowl.
