Bubble Watchers: Are We In or Out?
I'm really going to miss this pic...
Look at our body of work. 11-7 conference record. No SEC team with that kind of stats has EVER been held out of the tourney, albeit they keep telling us how DOWN the SEC is this year.
Probably a good idea if the Vols DESTROY the Cowbells to eliminate any hope of MSU getting our at-large bid...
Lebo for Prez, anyone?
Just let us in...
Discuss amongst yourselves...

If there is a chance...
…..for the national pundits to snub Auburn, they will. I’m not holding my breath. If we don’t get in, it’s still been a fun run to end the season. If we do get in, they’re likely to seed us against North Carolina, Missouri or someone like that.
We Get NO...
benefit of the doubt without a Sunday appearance in the tourney, but I’ve heard 15 different opinions this weekend and have believed them ALL…
Like I said, BEST if Tennessee DESTROYS MSU tomorrow…
Even if we do come up short, it’s been a hell of a run by Lebo and company and I’ll look forward to next season with him at the helm.

I would be shocked if we're in the NCAA tournament
Our at-large hopes are on life-support if Tennessee wins tomorrow. If Miss State wins? We’re done.

Sorry, but its highly unlikely...
…that we will get the bid. USC winning the Pac-10 bid really hurt our chances, taking away another precious at-large bid from the field. Despite the 11-7 conference record, the fact that we only have 2 top-50 RPI wins (LSU, UT), plus the best nonconference win is against Virginia—compared with other teams these will hurt us. This time, the strength of schedule hurts. For example, the committee will more than likely take a Maryland team that went 7-9 in the ACC with wins against UNC and Wake, as well as nonconferece wins against Michigan and Michigan State. The debate always surrounds mid-majors like Creighton and St. Mary’s, which could get at large bids at our expense.
Then again, in 2003 Auburn was the last at-large in the tournament and made a sweet 16 run.
If, as I expect, we get a NIT bid, lets get behind the team and hope they have a great run—a great way to celebrate an unexpected and exciting season.
doesn’t look good with a USC win today. The experts say there are three spots left with seven teams in position. Auburn, SDSU, St. Mary’s, Creighton, Penn St, Wisconsin, Arizona, and Maryland. I just can’t see the committee take only two SEC team.
1990 National Champions- Colorado Buffalo's
1913,1957,1983,1993,2004 National Champs- Auburn Tigers
I think
we are out. USC winning hurt badly, and if UT does not win big over MSU we are sure to be out. Arizona should take an at large bid, and Maryland is in for sure. I am going to be pulling hard for the committee, but it looks like a long shot
If you are a War Damn Eagle, you can War Damn anything.
Remember when it used to be easier to get a tourney bid than a bowl game?
20 years ago, 20 wins virtually assured you of a tournament spot. But 7 or even 8 wins in football might not get you into a bowl. Now 6 wins in football gets you a bowl, and twenty wins in basketball leaves you only hoping.
I agree with the sentiment here...
As crazy as it seems, it doesn’t look good. I can find no “expert” that has us in the tournament. What a shame. I guess on the bright side, Auburn may have another home game with the NIT. Yeah, I know, doesn’t sound too appealing.

The only one that I have heard
mention Auburn is Digger Phelps on ESPN. As of Sunday morning, he had Auburn in the tournament and Penn State and St. Mary’s out.
Through All Of This...
I still do not believe in Lebo. I guess we’ll see next season more so than we’ve seen from him in the past, but to me it seems as though this guy waits to finally coach a team midway through a mediocre season, that’s just not fair. Not fair to the team and not fair to us as fans. But hey, I could eat my words next season if he does well, but I just feel like he’s not the coach for us. I’m still proud of what we did…just not proud of how it took THIS LONG to be on the cusp of the NCAA/NIT tournament…
It is over....
with Mississippi State’s win, we are officially out.
And with the horrendous officiating of the last minute of that game (if you watched it, you know how horrible it was)
That was the sloppiest...
ending to a game I’ve ever seen, by BOTH teams AND the officials. At least three blown calls.
Yea, it’s looking pretty dim for our tourney hopes, especially with Miss State and USC winning their tournaments.

Not sure why Tennessee couldn't have played that poorly yesterday...

Turn out the lights... The Party's Over...
I can’t believe with the run Auburn had that they’ll be on the outside looking in. Tough year.

Arizona has won one game since Valentines Day
And Mike Slive must be anorexic b/c he sure can’t throw his weight around for SEC teams.
But they have a streak going
I have a couple of questions I’d like the selection committee to answer for Auburn fans:
1) If our name were Kentucky, would we have gotten in?
2) If, instead of losing to Mercer by four at home, we had lost at North Carolina by 50, would we have gotten in? RPI doesn’t consider margin of victory/defeat, IIRC.
