Around the Auburn Nation and College Football...
Good Saturday morning to you. Let's hope the heat here in East Alabama breaks somewhat between now and September 5th. Temperatures in Auburn are expected to reach 100 degrees today. If we're lucky, maybe it'll get down to a cool 90 degrees by kickoff with Louisiana Tech.
There's a lot good stories floating around the internet today, including one of the nicest tributes I've ever read. The Opelika-Auburn News talks with Olympic Gold Medalist Rowdy Gaines and others about the impact late Auburn Swimming Coach Richard Quick had on their lives. Smart Football looks at Gus Malzahn's offense and Chris Low at ESPN goes through his SEC mailbag. These stories and more are just a click away...

Shame on you Jay...
for getting my heart pumping about fotball this morning.
The Gus Malzahn read was interesting, I had never seen video of his Tulsa program before this morning. Looks like it could be real good stuff if executd properly with the right personnel. It gives me a little more confidence going into the season knowing of some of the guys we have on the team.
As for the QB situation, this may seem reckless, but I would like youth to be a factor in the coaches’ decision. By that I mean I would rather a younger player get a chance to make some mistakes before running an older player (Buns, Todd) out there for half a season and realizing that they can’t get the job done. But the coaches will make the best decision or the team and I trust their judgement. After all I’m not getting paid by AU to make decisions.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Rollison get a shot.

True
I hope someone steps up, I’m so sick of there being such a big question mark hanging over that position.

Good read on Richard Quick.
I think everyone should take a look at it.

The folks in Dallas
seem kinda sore about their stadium situation. Most of them show disdain for their own city’s bowl games. The comments about “who needs another bowl where two 6-6 teams teams play for what?” made me chuckle.
