Antonio Goodwin commits

Well we lost Grant to Bama which is disappointing, Considering he's from Opelika it is really disappointing. I think it had to do with where he would play at AU and where he would play at Bama. Bama offered him a spot at slot receiver which is what he said he wanted to play all along. To my knowledge AU never was able to guarantee him that.

The good news is that we just got a commitment from Antonio Goodwin, one of the top WR prospects in the country. The 4 star recruit has known for a while that he was bound for AU but he didnt verbally commit til today.

At the end of the day WR is where we need talent, we've got backs. It sucks to lose a guy from down the road, but getting Goodwin is pretty sweet.

Great news about Goodwin...

he is a very dynamic reciever and should be another great addition to a fast improving reciever corps. As far as Grant goes…..first I have heard of him wishing to be a slot reciever….all I had read was running back and since he is a stud at RB I figured thats where he will play. It would also be odd for him to want to be the slot reciever on a pro set running team……if I were wanting to be a slot reciever it would be for a team that likes to throw alot. I kind of figured that if Bama got Grant it would be because we stand a good chance of 1 or more of Seastrunk, Dyer, and Lattimore. Either way great news for us on Goodwin and Kudos to the Bammers for picking up Grant.

I would have gone to bammer if my grades hadn't been good enough to go to AU

Regarding Lattimore

Scout no longer has us as a team of interest for him. I did not check rivals.

I believe

this is also because of the Seastrunk/Dyer potential commits. It would be a crowded backfield..

I've seen good TEAMS beat teams with great individuals.

I still don’t really buy that these two are “locks”, especially Seastrunk. I definitely think Dyer is our best bet, seeing how he has come out twice and said that we have a pretty good lead for his services. But that still seems kind of fishy because if we really are way ahead of every other school -and have been for a while- then why doesn’t he commit already? Seastrunk? He’s definitely interested in us, but he’s interested in A LOT of schools. I think he’s milking the whole recruiting process maybe a little bit more than other recruits would, and honestly, why wouldn’t he? He’s got every school in the country after him and he can milk every school and enjoy the whole process. I’d be doing the same thing. I definitely think Dyer is the most likely to sign with us, but I’m not so sure about Seastrunk. Yes, we are definitely a school of interest for him, but I’m sure he’s telling the coaches and fans of every school he visits exactly what they want to hear. Don’t count your chickens before they hatch.
