Let's hope the SI jinks doesn't hit former Auburn quarterback Jason Campbell...

You know...

half of Skins fans are behind Campbell, half want him on another planet. This is a make/break year for him. He either does something good or he plays somewhere else next year.

If Washington...

can keep a solid OL going, and Portis can remain healthy, Campbell will be just fine. He’s one of those guys that has to get into a rhythm, but once he does, it’s on. 6 out of their 8 losses last year came because they couldn’t put at least 14 on the board.

Class Act.....

Regardless of what the upcoming year brings for Campbell, he has made us all proud…and he has done it with AUBURN CLASS…WAR EAGLE JASON! GO SKINS!!

It hurts to say it...

…..but Go Skins. (That really pains me, as a life-long, Texas-born Cowboy fan!) I wish Jason the best, and I hope he has a great year. In my mind, Campbell was never the issue with the Auburn offense in the early-mid 2000s. If the receivers could have caught a few more balls, it would have been the greatest run in Auburn history. Campbell was always accurate, seldom panicky (well, past the 2001 freshman Syracuse game!) and we were fortunate to have him at Auburn.

I don't blame Campbell.....

for panicking with Dwight Freenie constantly in his grill…..that dude was and is a freak of nature.

I would have gone to bammer if my grades hadn't been good enough to go to AU

A freshman QB...

……who got his first ever road start in the Carrier Dome, a week after a terrorist attack on New York. That was probably the most hostile environment ever, for Jason!

……Kendall Simmons was matched up on Freeny, and actually did a pretty good job. Freeny got loose for 4 tackles, 2 sacks. Unfortunately, we didn’t do so well blocking, elsewhere. Seven guys beside Freeny had tackles for loss. We were rotating Mike Pera and Monreko Crittendon at the other tackle slot, and they both struggled.

Freeny....

only got two sacks but he got a bunch of hurries and hit Campbell a multitude of times. I remember thinking that Campbell was going to either be hurt or be so rattled that we may have to go to a backup…..and I for one didn’t want to see Daniel Cobb or Jeff Klein on the field at any point in that season.

I would have gone to bammer if my grades hadn't been good enough to go to AU

Great...

Well, Campbell is done. I hate to say it, but there will be probably be another starter for the Redskins come Week 9 or 10. It always happens. The SI cover jinx is real.
