Julio Jones Vs. AJ Green

To make it clear, I am  die hard Auburn Fan...but i also give credit where credit is due....Now it is my opinion that AJ Green is a far better Wide Receiver than Julio Jones. I say this by looking at how he contributed to his team last yr and so far what he has produced this year. I think most people are not giving AJ Green the respect he deserves. So I just wanted to know....with the game on the line which receiver would you want on your team AJ Green or Julio Jones?

I put their statistics up...They are very similar except in the the TD's which, along with receptions, i think is more vital to a team than the amount of yards the receiver has that year...

I'll take Julio.

They are both great talents, but Julio is a wide reciever in a tightend’s body. He is a match-up nightmare for just about anyone you put on him. I think his abilities to block, to break tackles, and go get jump balls make him the better overall reciever.

Plus he was hurt the final six/eight games last year

and most of this year. He has to stay healthy, or its a moot point.

Julio is definitely my choice. AJ is great, no doubt, but Julio has size, speed, and most of the time won’t be brought down on the first or second hit.

Hasn't this already been brought up?

The first time this was asked, I mentioned that it all depends on what you need.

If you need a long touchdown or a playmaker type receiver I think AJ is the choice.

If you need a guy who can do everything but isn’t nearly as dangerous, in my opinion, after the catch, then Julio is your guy.

In the system we are running right now, Julio would be a star. He can block damn near any corner or safety that is covering him, he can make the catches and he requires either a superstar db to cover or two guys to cover him.

Agreed

Im a bama fan, and a HUGE Julio fan, but both are great and have different styles.

Though Green seems to be staying healthy :/

Julio

Only because he is like a tight end with speed. He creates huge mismatches with the secondary. He can be a jump ball receiver in closing seconds or big plays. Also you can’t really count 2009 stats he has been somewhat injured. Both are really good receivers but neither is the best in the NCAA.

different wr's

Aj runs around defenders after the catch

julio runs through them

If you’re throwing the deep ball AJ, if you trying to pick up a 3rd down throwing it over the middle Julio

They’re two different type of players

I did say if you dominated WV like I thought you were going to be in top 25 and yall looked a lil shaky there in the beginning

NOT SAYING YOU DIDN’T WIN IN A GREAT FASHION THIS ISN’T TROLLING

still I look at alot of teams ahead of ya’ll and I can understand why there’s some head scratching going on down in barn town

I don't mind...

not being ranked right now….I think it gives our football team the motivation to even work harder…I expect us to be undefeated going into the LSU game…and depending on how we do from then on out will determine how fast we rise in rankings…Hopefully we’ll have an undefeated Iron Bowl game…
