Tyrik Rollison to Transfer

New reports are coming out that Auburn redshirt QB Tyrik Rollison will transfer to Sam Houston State, according to his father. Also, Rollison alledgedly posted on his Facebook status: "MOVING ON FROM AUBURN...I APPRECIATE EVERYONE WHO IS SUPPORTING ME.''
Rollison was suspended from the team this past December for unspecified rules violations, which in turn with the recent signing of Cam Newton, could have influenced his decision. He was the biggest name in Gene Chizik's first recruiting class and was expected to contend strongly for the position this spring, provided he got his head straight. As it stands now, his CFB career is looking more like Sam Houston Institute of Technology.

I can't say I'm surprised , but I hate to hear it just the same.

looks like a boring off season
zero drama in QB department for the Bama schools

qb drama, NCAA investigations
and overhyped teams that finished the last season with a bowl win

Aw
don’t be modest, it was more than a bowl win, it was the National Championship

Depending on how much you read into it, you could think Tyrik saw how good Cam is, and knew he would have zero shot.
And if this kid, who is a stud knew he had close to know chance….
I just can’t wait to see Cam play.

Damn Shame
Cam has two years of eligibility. Getting a strong shot at the job for your redshirt junior year isn’t a bad deal. Must have been other things behind it.

Tyrik
Getting the shot, that is. Cam happens to be in his redshirt junior year as well.

Hate to see it....
If the kid can’t hang academically, or he really misses his family, we are not going to complain too much.
Wish him the best of luck in the future.

Where's RN4AU?
She’ll have the scoop!
How exactly do you out-recruit the national champions in their own back yard AND cost-to-coast? (Fruedian slip intended)

Just goes to show that recruiting is only part of it...
You never really know until they get to campus how they’ll adjust to life on their own.
I'm wearing this Auburn shirt because I went to Auburn. You are wearing that Alabama shirt because you went to Walmart.
I wish him the best.
I hope does well in his future and I hope God leads him wherever he needs to go.
Come on WEA don't go there.
As it stands now, his CFB career is looking more like Sam Houston Institute of Technology.
This is a very poor decision on his part though. He’d still have 2 years of eligability after Cam left and would be primed to be the top guy. Maybe he doesn’t have any confidence that Gus will still be around by then…
You win the prize, Jonno
I guess it takes a rocket scientist to figure that little joke out!

i'm confused by this. you never know what could shake out with...
the dynamics of players we have returning and new guys coming in and how it is all going to come together. either way, this QB player pool seemed a bit heavy,… and tyrik was the one to jump when another was picked up this year in the recruiting and was anticipated to make a real push for the job.
i read this as he wasn’t up for the fight…for the job, and /or to keep up with the academics. either way, he wasn’t up for the fight. would have liked him to still be in this pool because i think he was one of the guys to push for #2.
best of luck pal.

Since when
do we base things off of Facebook? Until he comes out and says he’s gone or the coaching staff says it I don’t really care what he facebooks or twitters or any of that other gibberish.

Not to hard to follow the logic ...
Let’s say you know that you are an academic casualty waiting to happen … then see that your coaches are making moves to cover their bets at the QB position because they figure they can’t count on you at QB (for whatever reason) … then they bring in a stud QB with a proven track record playing on Saturdays … whoa!!! … time to go to Plan B.
Hell, he’s just a kid. He’s wants to play now. He doesn’t much want to hit the books. He doesn’t much want to compete against the new guy at Auburn … time to go to Plan B.
Godspeed Tyrik!
