How I Became An Auburn Fan (TheAuburnKnight)
Hello Everybody and War Eagle! So with the encouragement for fans and writers to share there "Auburn Stories of Fandome" I thought I would tell you my story of how I became and Auburn fan. Its not a long story, but it is mine. My mother graduated from Auburn with a degree in engineering. She was a student during Bo Jackson's days as a Tiger, and she still follows Auburn Football to this day. I grew up in a pro-Auburn household, but I never really cared for football when I was young, to be honest, I was more intrested in the football food then the actual football. I did not grow up in Alabama so I was never really under and pressure to pick a side either, but I do live in Florida, around alot of gator fans, some ruder to other fans then others. Oddly enough 2008, when Auburn went 5-7, got steamrolled by Bama, and Florida won the national championship, is when I started really getting into Auburn football. What got me into Auburn football is when I went to the Auburn-Arkansas game that 2008 season, and even though they lost, even though I had to listen to gator fans trash Auburn for the next 7 days, I realized Auburn was special, and I loved it! Tiger Walk, the War Eagle, the pure size of Jordan-Hare Stadium. I really became part of the Auburn family after that weekend, and I am pround to be able to say that I am part of this family, this Auburn family.
Thanks for reading, and War Eagle!
