Oh Brother! Charles Barkley Admits To Taking Money From Agents
Our friend Charles Barkley is at it again. If you listened to The Dan Patrick Radio Show this morning, you heard the former Auburn great admitting that he took money from agents while playing basketball on The Plains.
Barkley was talking about the Reggie Bush case and advocating the right for college players to accept money while still in college. When Patrick asked how much he received, Barkley replied, "It was just chump change, a little walking around money."
Considering it has been more than 25 years since Sir Charles ran the Auburn courts, the school has little to fear in terms of any NCAA investigation.
I've always been an advocate of Barkley, but wouldn't it be nice if he just stopped talking about Auburn in public?

Never expected being so ashamed of an ALUM.
Its a free country so technically he can say whatever he wants. But he’s got to know that he’s burning bridges at AU. What a shame. I’m sure he gives a lot of money to the school. Wish I could win the lottery so I could take his place.
BREAKING NEWS: ESPN has several sources reporting that the University of Alabama's 1st string waterboy will be declaring himself eligible in the 2011 NFL draft. He projects as WR with 4.29 speed and a vertical of 12....feet.
I cringe everytime I see Auburn and Charles Barkley in the same sentence or article.
I say we track him down “Trackem Tigers” style and cut out his tounge.

Not sure what a tounge is but it sounds painful.....
JK.
I would have gone to bammer if my grades hadn't been good enough to go to AU
Ugh. Come on Charles.
Not everything that pops into your brain pan has to come out your face hole. Shut it already.
Disappointment..
My best emotion is, disappointment, when we talk about Charles Barkley. I loved his game, and youthful exuberance, but his decision making is questionable at best.

I still love the Round Mound of rebound....
and yes I cringe every time he speaks.

This is really going to hinder
his 2014 gubernatorial run.
At least it was from an agent and not Sonny Smith, Pat Dye, Corky Frost, et al.

Come on guys!
Every family has their black sheep! I know some of the things he says and does are totally off the wall or unbecoming of an Auburn man, but he has been the same person throughout. He isn’t going to change and we can’t kick him out :)
I have disappointed in myself...
I can’t kick out anybody, I can however, voice displeasure over some things people say and do. Having said that, of course you are right about family, black sheep, and such.
Let Charles be Charles, cause nobody else does him better than himself.

Back during the basketball coaching search.....
I think I referred to Barkley as a “moron”. I stand by my earlier comments.
absolutely turrible
I can’t remember the last time this man has said anything positive when it comes to Auburn. Thanks Charles.

In all fairness......
he didn’t say anything negative about AU this time……just himself.
I would have gone to bammer if my grades hadn't been good enough to go to AU
I can say one thing...
as I’m watching the Kansas vs So. Miss game, I am so glad that no one at Auburn listens to Sir Charles’ advice on which coaches to hire…..
Surprise! Surprise!
So ole ’Race-Card-Chuck" says he took money while he was at Auburn, did he?
Let us know when he says he took some classes at Auburn. Now, that would be a scoop.
Stay classy, Sir Charles.
P.S. You spit on any little girls lately?
