Dyer to A-State???

Please give me the skinney on what is being heard on the plains

Star-divide

I have't' seen this news on any of the message boards outside of Ark but several outlets including the local sports talk radio have it all but confirmed that Dyer is following Malzahn to A-State. On top of that they have even found a loop hole to allow him to be eligible immediately. Something about a sick family member. Now I am all for Dyer having sucess but I don't think it is fair to allow him to be eligible with out sitting out a year for whatever problems he experienced at AU. What kind of mesage are we sending that if you get into trouble at one university then go to another and never face your consequences. Once again I don't know or care what caused the issues at AU but they must still be severe enough to warrant suspension.

That being said, with the QB coming back and Dyers immedate ability to play would give Gus a pretty potent offense.

Any news or comments?

Shame all around...

If this is the case, I am not surprised. What a shame to lose a talented player like Dyer if this ends up being true. I hope all the rumors of his attitude problems and whatever caused his suspension are false, but…. Whatever the case, we will carry on and I wish him the best. Thanks for all you did for our team and never forget the Auburn Tigers! WDE!!

I hope this is wrong

I don’t know what the problem was, and although I would like to know, I have a feeling that Chizik will be mum on the issue. I can not understand how or why a young man like Dyer would consider leaving Auburn for anywhere.

Everything I am hearing is that this....

I am hearing that this is not happening. Also, that Dyer is to meet with Coach Chizik next week, and discuss his future.

Really, the only discussion should be...

…to remind Mr. Dyer of the fundamental truths that I have heard Coach Chizik say every time I hear him speak: 1) that Auburn was great before any player gets here; 2) that Auburn will be great after any player leaves; 3) that Auburn makes the players great, NOT the other way around; 4) that the players need to become Auburn, not try to make Auburn into their own image.

I applaud Coach Chizik for taking this step—it proves that he walks his own talk. Plus, even more importantly, one particular young man has the chance to get his head turned around straight and be a success not only in football but in life. We have seen bad attitudes get straightened out before (read Cam Newton, although he seemed to have straightened it out BEFORE coming to AU), and that would only mean good things for both player and team.

I heard this too...

And what’s more… I heard that the message Chizik will give him will be like this:

We would like you to be at Auburn…. if you want to be here. But if you don’t – you need to make a decision on where you want to go and get out now!

I think I can support that message. Considering how well our guys did during the bowl game, it really undermines Mike’s whole image. Plus he would be an idiot to leave… he would lose a year of eligibility and that would pretty much kill the kid when it comes to the NFL.

Suck up my pride and humble myself to the coaches at AU??? Or roll the dice and transfer and hope that someone remembers me at AU and the 2010 NC game when it comes to draft?

Yeah…. I think I know where this one is going.

Get your head on straight Dyer. And get back on the field.

While I've also seen the rumors,

I have a hard time believing them. Malzahn’s hallmark is developing quarterbacks (you have to think that the QB at Arky St is doing cartwheels-and that makes me happy :)), not running backs. I would be more worried about at QB defecting over other offensive positions. You have to think that getting All SEC honors and breaking records at Auburn would help NFL stock more than any records broken at Arky St. (no offense). With the Auburn O-line projected to get stronger, it would make it easier for Dyer to keep doing well…on top of the fact that he gets personal attention from one Bo Ausomesauce Jackson…I dunno, if he can’t be happy in Auburn, it makes me wonder if he could be happy anywhere. Regardless, I wish Dyer the very best, whether he decides to stay at Auburn or to take his talents elsewhere. I hope he works the kinks out and goes onto a productive, happy life! War Eagle, Mr. Dyer!

Media folks...

….from newspapers to P. Marshall over at AuburnUndercover are saying that Dyer to Arky State is bunk.

The rumors aren't so crazy anymore...

Don’t be so quick to throw everything out as hearsay these days but don’t accept everything too quickly either. Just try to take a wait and see attitude if you can.

It's Auburn against the world. Good luck world.
