Kansas hires......

.... Charlie Weiss.

Go ahead take a little time to chuckle while you come to grips with it. I did. Does KU really think that Charlie Weiss is going to put their program in position to compete in the Big 12?

It's a strange hire for sure....especially after watching Weiss bumble through his tenure at Notre Dame and do less with more talent at Florida. I truly am bumfuzzled over it....but at the same time I'm happy that Coach Gus Malzahn is not in danger of going to the coaching waste land that is KU.

I hope that CGM is on AU's staff for many years to come (although I doubt it) and when he does leave it's for a top coaching job (outside of the SEC).

I bet Will Muschamp is feeling mixed emotions.....relief that he didn't have to fire Weiss sometime down the road and anxiety over finding a top notch OC to make sure he has a job at UF for at least the full term of his contract.

Count me among the surprised.

I just don’t get it. I guess they are thinking that Weiss has a tangible history, where as they may have viewed Malzahn as an unknown……Lucky for us anyway. Hope the Jayhawks get used to the bottom of the barrel, ‘cause they’re gonna be there for a while.

Saw on the twitterz that Muschamp didn’t realize that Weiss had accepted the job, until his presser. Good times. Good times.

I wouldn't be surprised in the least if Malzahn turned down the job....

not that I know if he were offered it or not….it’s just that KU is a horrible place to try to win more on the level of Iowa State than OU or Texas. It will be a very difficult place to succeed for anyone.

I agree as well.....

Also, it might have been too cold for Kristi. From a non-football perspective, Manhattan is supposedly not that bad. I’ve met several people that like living there……

Minor amendment

Manhattan is home to the K-State Thundercats
Wildcats.
KU is in Lawrence. Not that I care, so much, but you never know when a pack of rabid Jayhawk football fans (all three of them) might descend upon you for such an offense.

Kristi likes cold weather

She actually likes cold weather a lot and was probably pushing for a cold place. I know she likes cold weather and I dare you to ask me who my source is.

It's Auburn against the world. Good luck world.

Kristi herself...

She loves the cold weather. That is not a rumor or anything, that is the truth. She loves the cold weather and looks forward to the winter time. She told me her favorite time in Tulsa was when their power went out and she wore a bunch of warm stuff.

It's Auburn against the world. Good luck world.

Wow...

You’re not going to disbelieve me from the start??? I love you guys, you’ve learned when I’m just BSing and when I’m actually giving you legitimate goods the best I can. Yes, this one is the truth as is all of the stuff I give you when I say that it is. I also give disclaimers every time I cannot verify the information. Hahaha, I’ve spoken with Mrs. Malzahan a few times and I happen to think she’s a beautiful woman and a class act. I know most would not agree with me on here but she was always nice to me. I think she is a very kind woman.

Why wouldn't we?

I mean, they may be coaches and stuff, but they still live around here.

Which reminds me that I DO have a negative thing to say about Ted Roof — the man takes too damned long making up his mind at the store.

Just over a year ago, I wound up behind him in line in the bakery section at the grocery store, and it took me a few minutes to realize who it was. The custom AU UnderArmour shoes were a hint, and when he spoke up to the lady at the counter, the voice sealed it.

I didn’t say anything to him, but I wanted to say: “For god’s sake, you’re choosing donuts, not defensive schemes to stop the spread option! Hurry it up.”

I’d like to think that being behind Gus Malzahn would have gone a lot quicker.

Gus would have planned his choice of doughnut prior to leaving his house....

and would have had at least 3 backup choices for what ever scenario that might have fouled up his first choice. Just sayin.

Auburn could be worse.

Ya’ll could be Tennessee or Florida…

man I’d be worried if I were fans of those teams.

I'm not one to swear on this board...

…but, what the ___k? I guess Weis looks the most like Mark Mangino. That had to be their reason, right?

…..Maybe Mushamp will hire Norv Turner when the Chargers fire him this winter.

It amazes me at how many people (mostly bammers) think UF's program is still moving along...

I heard one today say he couldn’t believe how UF did this year… he attributed it to Weiss’s actions as an OC. I explained that in my opinion that Weiss wasn’t the root problem… that in fact Urban Meyer had been loafing on the job for a while… he was all smoke and mirrors…and his last year proved it.

So the axe handle man has decided to move along?

Good for him.

I can only imagine what kind of conversation Mushcamp and he had on the sidelines while Weiss was sitting on the water cooler looking down at him. LOL. Muschamp must have been frustrated… classic Mut and Jeff combination.

I think Weiss will probably do ok at Kansas. But brother… you sure are going to miss Florida. Kansas sucks. No trees. Manhattan it is like the middle of freaking no where…. what am I saying… it’s more to your kind of element. Boring.

Go Jayhawks! LOL.

Yes... according to the man that called it right the first time...

Pat Dye.

And I thought the exact same thing. The dudes were not mixed appropriately. Just like in a nasty drink… there was going to always be stuff at the bottom of the glass here.

It’s just wasn’t going to work. But try telling that to a UF fan.
