Around SBN: What If This Is It For The Celtics? End Of An Era Looming

SB Nation.com has uncovered Cam Newton's wonderlic score and the results are more than passable. His score of 21 is one point better than that of Washington quarterback Jake Locker, but falls well short of Missouri's Blaine Gabbert who scored a 42.

The Wonderlic is a written test given each year at the NFL Combine that's suppose to measure intelligence and predict future success as an NFL quarterback.

How accurate is the test? Well, Jim Kelly and Dan Marino both scored a 15 back in the day and managed to put together decent careers.

21 HMMMM, that's half of McElroys score

Of course Cam is twice the athelete Elroy is. Hmmm, guess that makes them equal, that is unless you want to win football games instead of carrying a clipboard.
Seriously, I still think Jacksonville will take Cam first, if not Tenn might snap him up at 10th which would be ok with me too.

I just hope they erect the Saban statue/altar/shrine before he leaves

Agree - in part

I agree that Cam is a far better athlete than Elroy. He will enjoy success in the NFL while McElroy will have a future doing something else.

You mentioned that you think Jacksonville will take Cam first. That would work if J’ville had the first pick. Carolina has the first pick and are taking a strong look at him. If not, you mentioned Tenn at 10. Tenn has the 8th pick and Washington has the 10th. Both need QB’s. It was long rumored that he would go to Buffalo at 3. Either way, Both Cam and Nick will be top 10 picks.

You are right about the teams, I think Cam goes one and Nick goes 4 or 5

Ever wanted to erase something stupid your wrote on a resume?

For whatever teams skip him, they’ll put the following high on their resumes for a year or two.

“I suggested the team pass on the chance to sign Cam Newton”

They’ll spend the rest of their professional careers trying to live that line down.
