Barrett Trotter 'Retiring' from Auburn
Barrett Trotter has decided to forgo his senior season at Auburn, keep his bachelor's degree and continue pursuit on his Master's.
"My four years at Auburn has been a great experience and I'm thankful for the opportunities that I've had, however, I have decided to forgo my senior season," Trotter said in a statement. "I'm truly blessed to have been a part of winning seasons and championships during my time at Auburn."
Said Gene Chizik: "Barrett is a great young man who ended his career in a fitting way by helping lead our team to victory in the Chick-fil-A Bowl," Chizik said. "We are very appreciative to Barrett for his contributions to Auburn, both on and off the field, and wish him nothing but the best."
I must admit, it takes a lot of fortitude to call it a day like this. While Trotter's stock has skyrocketed again since the Chick fil A bowl, the competition for next year at QB will be tremendous. We're certainly going to miss his senior leadership.
I'm sure all Auburn fans will always hold Trotter in high regard for his four years with the program. Good luck, Barrett. And don't ever let em give you sh*t about that beard.
Trotter's Signature win? Utah State, Miss State, South Carolina, Florida or Virginia? Discuss.

Trotter seems to be...
the ultimate team player. Best wishes to him.
With a shaky line...
….and his best receiver hurt, things didn’t work out this year. I have to say I immensely enjoyed Barrett’s performance cold off the bench in Atlanta! Wonderful!
…..I wish this fine Auburn man well, going forward. Hasn’t always been easy, and he’s certainly had his share of adversity in his athletic career. Lessons learned in the cauldron will serve him well in the future!
......Drowning in cool elixir.
Trotter
I wish him the best of luck and know he will be sucessful at whatever he does in the future!
He will always be a part of the Auburn family.
Barrett is the definition...
…of a true Auburn man. Would that certain other players (cough…Mike…cough) followed this real man’s example.

(who would have liked to have Barrett on or off the bench next year, but WAR EAGLE to him anyhow!)

So glad he gets to leave on a high note.
I never thought he got a fair shake during the season. He earned the starting job and never got a second chance after his (former) backup proved he couldn’t cut it in tough situations. I’m still disappointed that Barrett didn’t get a shot a bama in the second half.
Good luck Barrett, you’ve been and will continue to be an admirable role model.
(lets hope Auburn is chasing QB recruits because only having three QBs on roster is not smart)

Trotter’s signature win was against the Gamecocks – a highly ranked team, and on the road. Still, the way he made us all wonder what could’ve been by his performance in Atlanta is what will stick in many fans’ minds.

I agree
In pitcher’s parlance, the SCe game was his signature win, the UVa game a save.

Great decision
He earned his degree and represented Auburn well and I wish him the best. Next year QB competition will be brutal and he would probably not get the nod.
Now that the statue/altar/shrine is up, is it in Sabans contract that he gets to take it with him when he leaves?
Maybe he's retiring
so he can be our new offensive coordinator. No, probably not.
The UVa game was his best.
I need a cold shower and a copy of the Auburn Creed
Good luck, Mr. Trotter!!!
I have to admit (sheepishly) that when he came off the bench in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl, I was convinced that we were throwing the white flag. And then a little magic happened. Barret completely took control-the quarterback that I thought he could be all season. He looked nimble and stealth and was downright effective. You can’t ask for a better final game than that.
I see the QB race being between Frazier and Pike. Moseley seems fragile to me. Maybe he can channel his inner-Trotter and prove us all wrong!

Although…Trotter could rock a BVG stash if he wanted to…just sayin’.
I’m actually hoping that he’ll make appearances as a graduate assistant…..

Barrett Trotter - a class guy.
I will always wonder what he could have done had he played behind a line like 2010’s and with Darvin Adams to throw to. Nevertheless, he goes out as a great Auburn man.
