Jordan Moore picks TCU
NSD started off with a big letdown when Jordan Moore picked TCU. I was stoked about this kid becasue not only is he a great athlete but he really seems to have his head on straight. I always worry about these kids who feel they need to have a television audience to announce their decision to attend college, they want to put on a show and be unpredictable. And this was kind of a shock, since Auburn was much closer to home and offers everything and more than does TCU. Sounds like his desire to run track had a big impact in his decision.
I've got a sinkin feeling we are going to see more of the same tomorrow

Ouch!
After watching the announcement on TV, I gotta say that he seems like a kid whose head’s on straight. He would’ve been a great addition. Wish we could’ve gotten him.
I’m hoping we don’t hear anymore of the “The Auburn coaches were great, but……….”
It does stink a little that he chose TCU
Although Auburn offered him late in the process. TCU has been all over him for a while, plus they have a top notch track program.
I hate losing him, but it ain’t the end of the world. I wish him nothing but the best, and as always…

Extra slots?
If AU signs only 20 kids this year (for example), will AU be able to sign 30 kids the next year? Or only 25? How does this 25 rule work?
I am trying to get answers to that..
and a couple other questions you guys have asked. I hope to have those answers by the afternoon tomorrow.
Sorry, that may not help, but I am trying to get the correct answers, not just trust our media sources.

I hope you're right
The problem is we aren’t a shoe in for any of these kids tomorrow. We have put ourselves in the position of HAVING to have a great day to save face. Thats a tall order for even the best of programs. We should go into signing day looking for gravy, not a Chateau Briand. I’m not blaming the co-ordinator search but we shouldn’t be sitting on only 15 commits going into signing day. At best we probably only get 20 and then hope we can sign some early enrollees next year that will count against this years crop…..otherwise its like we got socked with a one year probation where we lose 5 schollys. Whether we like it or not that will hurt the program down the line.
I love the smell of Auburn in the autumn.....it smells like....victory.
THANK YOU COLONEL
I’ve been screaming that for weeks now, weeks! Everybody just kept saying everything is fine it’s under control. No one is perfect. Everyone makes mistakes. I’m not sure that Chizik had been the situation that he faced like he did in December. I really think he made some mistakes. Well, he’s a man who can learn from mistakes. He’ll learn from these and 2013 will be a great recruiting year! I’m less and less sold on Mike Pelton. He’s losing almost every single recruiting battle he’s had for the defensive line. I flat out do not trust him as a recruiter. Maybe, when 2012’s defensive improves so drastically (and let’s hope for sure that it does) Pelton will have more cred with the recruits. Right now, he’s getting slammed and that’s with the help of Trooper, Luper, and Thig. Think about it if he didn’t have those guys and Jeff Grimes. Come on Pelton, you’ve got to improve man!
It's Auburn against the world. Good luck world.
The problem is...
that this wasn’t KNOWN until NSD. This “down low” stuff that Chizik’s staff has adopted has killed us this year. I for one hate it.
I thought things were going on in the background. But they didn’t. Or at least they didn’t end in our favor. As a result we ended up looking foolish.
You were right Spark. No doubt about it.
Personally – I think AU needs to make a spot for D. Craig who is currently killing us at FSU. We need to bring that AU man home. Unlike Taylor who promised Christmas…he just does.

well we've pulled in the #11 class with 2 more hopefuls
Is that good enough?
Auburn Tigers 2010 National Champions
Yes its turned into a very good class, however....
its woefully deficient on defensive talent. Its strong on stars but not on need. As much as I like the OL we got, 6 is more than we need…..at least right now. We only got 7 defensive recruits…..and that is where we are weakest and need the most help with depth. Not trying to be negative, thats just facts. Going after too many high profile recruits on defense really burned us, we almost have to hit on all the guys we signed for this to be considered a successful class, and we all know that won’t happen.

I will say this...
We will be much better on the defensive side of the ball in recruiting in 2013. You will see VanGorder’s presence really make a difference after a year of outstanding defense at Auburn. Man, we’re going to be so paper thin at linebacker and defensive tackle. We really need a couple of those OL’s to consider switching over to DL. That would help us a whole lot I think. It would give that deep rotation of OL’s some early playing time too. Sometimes, all you need is a couple of huge guys in the middle to cut off the run. We have the defensive ends that won’t be an issue. We’ll also have a thunderous secondary. The linebackers and defensive tackles are yet again way too weak.
It's Auburn against the world. Good luck world.
