Tony Barbee Has Signed His Contract
According to published reports, Auburn's basketball coach has signed his contract, which is a seven year deal worth 1.5 million dollars per, with bonuses the total could reach 2.125 million dollars for each season.
Auburn added some precise language in connection with talk of NCAA violations. Auburn has the right to suspended Barbee without pay or terminate him if the university, the SEC or the NCAA "concludes or has reasonable basis to believe" that Barbee "or any person under his supervision or subject to his control or authority is involved in significant or repetitive violations of NCAA regulations."
Seemingly, Auburn has protected it's self against possible NCAA violations.
Barbee has been at Auburn for nearly two years

Apparently the buyout
is $750K per year up to year 2017. That is a hefty buy-out for the recent performance.
I think it shows a committment ...
For both parties to have signed this, for length of time, shows both are committed to making this work. I am proud of the effort Auburn is putting into the basketball program. I feel confident that Barbee has us going in the right direction. Give him two more years, and we will become a constant presence in the dance.
