Attention Bammers

Mon Nov 05, 2007 at 01:12:53 PM EDT

Okay, someone needs to fix the criteria for the Intro part of this blog site. It's one of the worst formatted that I have seen. I had a very interesting blog written, and apprently it didn't fit into the set criteria. Please! Fix it! Anyways, check out my Monday rant below!!!

Good afternoon! And, welcome to my Monday rant. First of all, I would like to say congratulations to Les Miles. LSU has so much talent and is so poorly coached. I am not sure when Miles lost control(or if he ever had it) but it is obvious that he has none. Second, I would like to encourage Bama fans to stop making excuses. This year marks the final recruiting class gathered under probation. The probation excuse no longer will be acceptable. Your failures and future missteps will be of your own accord. Also, I would like to encourage Bammers to stop using the Mike Shula recruits as an excuse. These players were recruited to play at a Division I level and are quality athletes. In regards to the previous encouragement, I would like to also encourage Bammers to stop using the, "Wait till Saban gets his recruits". Auburn has played 22 redshirt and true freshman this year. No team, aside from the Gators, has played with more inexperience. Yet, we are at or near the top in the SEC. So, what does all of this mean? Well, frankly it means shut up! Bama is as irrelevant as they have always been. Claiming other teams national championships(Arkansas 1964) and boasting about dominance when they could give out 150 scholarships and hoard all of the recruits is a thing of the past. Despite wasting 4 million a year on a coach who doesn't care about the University of Alabama- the chances of winning in this league with UGA, Florida, and Auburn on the verge of blooming with their current talent is going to be near impossible. So, settle in Bammers! You may beat us in  recruiting, for now, but your a years away from being relevant. Saban won't wait that long....

I'll Holla</stron</p>

P.S. Caddell did not catch that ball!! Give it up already! LSU served the game up to you guys on a silver platter, and yall still couldn't beat them! If they had played that poorly against Auburn, we would have beaten them 20! Sorry, but it's true!
130+ penalty yards
3 turnovers
Britt committed a chop block on Dorsey and no one mentions it!
Refs get LSU's properly executed O-Line shift wrong!
I could go on, but I will save it for November 25th

Ok, first off, I will disagree with you on several points of your ranting.  The diving catch was legit.  For Bama and for LSU though.  Remember the fact that they took away a 30 or 40 yarder for LSU also.  I have never seen such crap as to take away the diving catch for an entire game.

Secondly, I thought that the line was set and should not be allowed to shift like they did, it looked to me like it was set up to make the defense go offsides and should have been called for false start.

I will agree that the Alabama version of the chop block has certainly been swept under the rug.  They talked about for a couple plays and then stopped.  Meanwhile, they even brought up the fact that Auburn had chop blocked him in the previous game after they stopped talking about Alabama doing it.

This game really proves to me that Saban is a horrible coach though.  He might be one hell of a recruiter/cheater, but a coach he is not.  He had ever call go his way except one, the diving catch.  He had home field advantage.  He had next to no injuries for the game.  He basically had this game in bag and couldn't do anything with it.

    • I'll preface this., I'm a Bama fan. I don't live in the state of AL and my hatred of Auburn is not as great as that as other Bama fans.
ArieGold. Your argument has some valid points, however, I wanted to note a couple of points that are slightly off the mark.

First, not using the 'Mike Shulas recruits' excuse. Sorry not going to happen. CMS was a good recruiter of the skill positions (QB, RB and WR most notably) but he didn't seem able to get in enough good OL or DL recruits to meet the needs of an SEC football team. Until those deficiencies have been addressed, it only seems fair to me.

To continue in that vein, those decent recruits that Shula did pull in were woefully under coached. If CMS had a team that was in shape and attacked each game with the belief that they could win it, he'd still be here. Instead a mentality of losing crept in the locker room and the guys were flabby and out of shape.
Second, As for being relevant. Given the recruiting success and Sabans history of playing true freshman when the need exists, I see Bama coming on strong next year. If the cards fall right Bama will be back in the top five within the next two seasons.

Third, the chop block. As I saw it, the difference is that Britt tackled him from the front (ie not a chop block) the Auburn kid (I don't know his name) hit Dorsey from the side/rear of his legs.

Fourth, the line shift was illegal. LSU OL planted, lifted hands and shifted. I would have though it was a false start, but there you go.

You are dilluted. Shula had solid classes, LSU never got set, and you won't be in the top 5 in 2 years. Typical stupidity from a classic Alabama fan. Recruiting doesn't win championships silly Bammer.....Look at USC. They have 58....Yes, that's FIFTY EIGHT five stars on their team! You do the math....
