Who's to blame for the Phillies' struggles? Bar-right-arrows

Happy New Year and War Eagle!

I hope all of you had a great New Year's Eve. And why wouldn't you? Auburn's victory over Clemson last night was a huge program builder heading into next season.

I'm just getting back in town from the game.  The Auburn crowd was tremendous. The Clemson fans were very confident prior to the game. I've never seen a group of fans anymore down than Clemson's following the loss. They took it hard.

I still can't believe Auburn scrapped its offense and installed a new one in three weeks - and managed to win against a talented Clemson defensive team. Unbelievable.

I'll have more on Auburn's 23-20 victory over Clemson tomorrow.

I hope everyone is enjoying the day and watching plenty of football. I'll be pulling for the SEC the rest of the way - maybe even slightly pulling for Georgia. At this point, the conference is still undefeated.

Enjoy the games.

The SEC...

.....isn't doing to badly this year, except for the egg Arkansas laid in the Cotton Bowl. Terrible. Tennessee actually won one in Tampa! Has that ever happened before? And Florida's hanging in down in Orlando.

.....I committed New Year's heresy, today. While three bowls were on, I agreed to go out and play tennis with my son. His mistake! He hates cold weather, and it's 44 degrees, with a stiff wind today. Me, I love it! Sunglasses, orange Auburn T-shirt, and it felt great! I got a new Wilson Hammer, for Christmas, this year, too. Power!!!! I haven't taken two sets away from him in forever! War Eagle!

.....I didn't expect much in the Peach Bowl. I still can't believe we installed a 400+ yard offense in nine practices! Upon review, I think Pat Sims got into Cullen Harper's head, and threw him off. And Muschamp took advantage, too. I am SO excited about the offense, I could scream! We do have to remember, though, that if the drops or fumbles return, it will stink pretty bad...

It didn't take long...

....for Bobby Petrino to install the Louisville defense at Arkansas. Or was it Herring's defense? I'd imagine both coaches would try to put the blame on the other. That's just shameful, for an SEC team to give up over 300 rushing yards in a bowl game. And Florida has given up a ton to Michigan, too.

.....The middle of the pack SEC teams did well, going 4-0 in 2007 bowl. However, here on New Year's Day, it looks like the SEC will be 1-2. Tennessee toughed out a win, Arky stunk it up, and it looks like Florida's going down. They failed on 4th down, and the way Michigan's moving at will, it's over, unless Mike Hart fumbles again. Or Henne tries to force another screen pass. The only reason Florida remained in the game was Michigan turnovers...

Florida was a surprise...

I figured they had a game on their hands, but never dreamed Michigan would play like they did. So much for the speed argument.

Same old Lang Syne

Florida ran into the same problem we had 2 years ago with Wisconsin--facing a Big 10 team who's long-time coach was retiring and having the players really get up for the game to send coach out a winner.

Clemson fans
I would just like to say that I've been an Auburn fan my whole life and I've gone to many games against many teams - both SEC and other. The Clemson fans are by far the nicest and most cordial fans I've come across. Atleast the ones that attended the bowl game this year were. It was a close game and hard fought on both sides. I appreciated that both teams came out with their class :)
