Help the Victims and Make Auburn A Winner
The guys at Fanblogs.com and Every Day Should Be Saturday.com have come up with a cool idea to help victims of the numerous tragedies around the country ā the tornadoes in the Midwest, the storms in the Southeast and the wildfires in Florida and California.
They are holding a contest called The Charity Bowl. Basically, they rank the top 10 schools who give the most money to the American Red Cross. The winning school (announced on Thursday) will be given huge recognition on both web sites ā complete with school colors and mascots.
Auburn is currently in third place (tied with Alabama). Rumor has it that Nick Saban is asking this year's recruiting class to give 10% of its signing bonus to the Red Cross.
War Eagle Atlanta gave big this morning and Iām following suit tonight. If you have a little extra and want to help some deserving people out while bringing a little recognition to Auburn, then I encourage you to do so. It always feels good to help others.

Be sure..
...to hit the home button on fanblogs and you can access the posts giving the most current talleys by team. As of this afternoon, we had dropped to 5th place, barely behind Texas, then Florida, Ohio state and Michigan.
You can donate to three different charities, but I chose the Red Cross and selected it for domestic allocation since we've had some bad weather here at home, too.
By tomorrow, they're implementing a new option. If your team is out of the running, you can re-allocate your funds to go AGAINST your rival's account. For example, if Bama was no longer a factor and they had raised $500, the donors could re-allocate the funds to go against OUR total, possibly causing us to lose.
It's for a worthwhile cause, so give it a look. $10 is the minimum. That's like lunch money for most of us...
